I'm not from Ohio, but my son and daughter-in-law (who is also a scrapper) live in Willoughby. Is that close enough???;)

Hi, I'm just down the road from Ohio, in Kentucky. Just about 60 miles from Cincinnati. This MB is great for meeting people from all over. It's going to be so much fun seeing everyone's cards and pages! :)

Hi everyone. Didn't know if anyone would reply but it's nice to talk to other scrappers. I haven't been scrapping long and I'm still learning. Unfortunately I don't know how to scan my 12x12 pages because I have a 8 1/2 x 11 scanner so I won't be able to show none of my pages to know if I'm doing this wrong or not. But thanks for your posts.

Do you have a digital camera? They are not too expensive at Walmart and they usually have software so you can connect and download to an album. I use Picasa from google (it's free).

I don't use my scanner any more for getting my pages into my computer. I use a bright room in my house - tape (on back of course) my pages up on a wall and get in as close as I can with my digital camera. Works great everytime.

Hello everyone. Nice to see alot of people from Ohio. As for the digital camera. Yes I have one but I never even thought of taking a picture of my pages and downloading them. What a great idea! I'll have to try that.

I usually scan but can't get at my printer just now so have used the digital camera and am pleased with the way they have uploaded. I think it will be the camera in future. Trish :)

I think it all depends on what you're sending. If you're trying to do a 12x12 scrapbook page by scanning - you'll have to have software with "stitching" abilities to put the two halves together, OR have a large format scanner. If you're trying to upload cards, I would definitely go with a scanner.
Using your camera: Some people suggest standing above your pages and shooting them that way. I personally prefer to use masking tape on the back of my pages, taped up on either a wall or a door in a bright room. That way it's easier to move in for a close-up. Fill your viewfinder entirely with the image. TURN YOUR FLASH OFF, or you'll distort colors. Hold your camera super steady - or it's best if you have a tripod.
I then upload my photos into Adobe Photoshop (but don't have to), and crop the unwanted edges. You don't have to go to these extremes, but this is something I must do as I offer my work on websites for sale. I hope this helps!
