Hi--I'm new here. Both to this forum and to card making. I am hoping that someone with more experience can help me figure out the best ways to attach vellum without glue showing, and possibly some ideas of working with vellum. :)

They have special glues, sprays and tapes that will not let the vellum show through. The best thing I have used so far though is a xyron. It sorta shows through, but because you do it on the entire thing it makes it very nice looking and complete. The sprays don't seem to stay stuck for too long, but the lue dots for vellum work good. You can get them at Michaels.

There is a special glue on the market for Vellum. I bough mine at Wal-Mart. The runner reads, "Scrapbook Adhesives" At the bottom, "E-Z Runner" with Vellum printed underneath.

I don't find it easy to use but it does not show through the Vellum.

You can always attach vellum with brads or eyelets or use adhesive under a part that doesn't show on finished card eg. if there is a flower on top of vellum.

Hi Jessica --we just moved here...we are right on the edge of N. Charleston, in Wescott Plantation, near Ashley Phosphate!

I tend to attach vellum with brads as most glues I have tried show through. :) Trish

I use wonder tape if the vellum piece has straight edges.......it will show thru.....but if you line it up straight, it should look okay.
Or else you can attach it with a brad or an eyelet.......most of the time I attach a decorative eyelet with crop-a-dile. If the vellum piece is square or rectangle, you can also use photo mount squares, which will show thru, but attached to the corners, they will look uniform

Vellum glue dots. You can find them at Hobby Lobby, if you have one. Haven't looked at Michaels. They come on a flat sheet. Also as mentioned, brads work great, or hide your other adhesive under an embellishment.

Yep, those are the vellum glue dots. That's what my sisters and I use.

Keep trying the vellum glues till you find one you like. I use ThermOWeb Vellum runner. There are several different brands out there. You can also do like they do in fancy invitations and punch two holes at the top and thread some ribbon through. Its an easy way to hide a bit of tape. Hey, we can be sneaky when we have to. LOL
