This is my very first message board association! I am hoping to connect to others that love to do what I love to do too! Without my family at home, I miss my sounding board for projects! (You know... "kudos from the kids" "Great card, mom!") Anyone else feel that way, or is it just me? So here I am on line looking for friends that make cards and want to share ideas, kudos, and help with the problems of being addicted to paper, stamps and ink!!! :)

Podmom,
Welcome, and yes you are among the obsessed!

If you go down the line to see where everyone if from, you will find we are from EVERYWHERE! We all are linked with this great art of paper (yes I call it ART!). No matter what others think of our art, it is something we can be proud of and feel great about.

I feel the same way, Podmom! Sorry to tell you that there is no help for the addiction, so just enjoy it. We can help with the ideas and the kudos, which we all love getting. Craftynana is right, this MB is definitely an addiction too!

I'm not a cardmaker - YET, but I'm a notorious scraplifter so I'm open to the possibilities of cardlifting as well. As far as your position is concerned, I enjoy the company of fellow scrappers online but not in person. I prefer isolation while I'm working on a project, but would rather have the approval of the people who know what it takes to put a page together than those who can only appreciate the finished product even though those things are important for other reasons.

I've noticed that people on scrapsites (experienced scrapbookers) tend to be encouraging and if you want a true critique, you will need to ask for it specifically. Hope you'll have a good experience.

Hi from a fellow addictive crafter. I live in the UK and just love making cards and buying stash. I probably like the latter most of all!

I have been buying stuff since my first rubber stamp in 1988! My kids think my craft corner is like a trip to the craft store! And since I started before the craze, there are all kinds of newer and better products to use now! I see it as ready cash one of these days when I have to sell it all! ;-). Like that is going to happen!

You are so right, just ask my family! They grew up going to craft stores and they still know that all I need is a gift card for a gift! They also loved having all the stuff around when they needed to make presentation boards for school! :-).

what is the difference between a quick reply and posting a reply? I am having some "fun" figuring out how all of this works, so be patient with me! :p

I wonder sometimes if he even really looked at it! Oh, well, he supports my addiction, and actually goes to the craft store with me and has been known to put stuff in my cart that he thinks I can use! He likes to look at the rubber stamps! :-).

And then there are those of us that have paper, love it, and then can't stand the thought of actually using it! It is always in wait for that perfect project! :-).

Probably the most fun part is forgetting I have some of my paper and embellishments and finding them while looking for something else! Now where did I move my chalk? I know I moved it to an easier to find place! :-).

In my book you can never have enough papers!;) Just don't ask my hubby. LOL Though now I finally have it where when I buy some paper he knows to gently and carefully carry it to the car so it doesn't get wrinkled. LOL
I think we all like to get a good response when we have worked hard on a card or any paper project. It sure is a good feeling of satisfaction.

I realized the other day those of us who create cards and scrapbooks are DICE (we design, imagine, create and encourage) so I think you are in the right spot.

Welcome! This is the best group of crafters that I've had the pleasure of getting to know. I love making cards and this is one addiction that's really good for you. I'm working on concertina book cards at the moment. I bought the new Crafter's Companion Ultimate Envelope/Cardmaking board. The project ideas are the greatest. I've already done one purse card and I'm planning on learning to make the envelbox for it next. Glad that you joined us. Judi
