I am thinking of giving up all my subs to my mags, except for Scrapbooking and Beyond. I love that they have HOTP products/layouts in every issue. Does anyone else get this magazine? Are there others out there that use HOTP?

I can't say that I have an all-out favorite anymore - they all seem to change so much. Once they go in a different direction, I tend to lose interest. ONe thing I've noticed that is totally turning me off magazines is their heavy emphasis on digital scrapbooking. And it's not that I'm against digital scrapbooking, I use digital elements myself. But it really grinds my butt that Creating Keepsake seems to be on this tangent lately with Shutterfly or whatever-it-is, to create photo memory books. Um, correct me if I'm wrong - but isn't that going against the grain of SCRAPBOOKING??? Holy Hannah!!! The two just don't seem to mix. But yet - I still subscribe to Creating Keepsakes (my last year if they don't shape up), Simple Scrapbooks, and I LOVE Paper Crafts Mag. I absolutely love getting my Paper Wishes catalog in the mail. I've kept every single one since they first started coming out. I read them from cover to cover, dream and drool. :p Wish we could see some of the magazines you all are speaking of. I'll have to look them up online and see if they have international subscriptions.

I haven't seen a lot of the older ones around either. I do subscribe to Card Maker, but their cards are pretty simple- they want the beginners to be able to have a hand at the cards too. Is there any magazine that caters to the high-end card maker? Not that I am there yet, but I would love to get there. It seems that people in the UK are more elaborate than over here (but not always, just generally).

I subscribe to a lot of magazines - I figure I'm going to buy them anyway, so I might as well save a little by subscribing! My favorites though, month after month, are Scrapbooks, Etc. and Stamp and Scrap Arts.

Is it true I heard that Scrapbooks, Etc. was not printing any longer???? I hate to see ANY paper-related publication go under. For some reason, Scrapbooks, Etc. is really hard to find in my neck of the woods. I would like to see more of it, though.

I think I remember hearing that a while back, but I'm not exactly sure which one...
Has anybody subscribed to scrabook trends? Iam looking to get a subscription to Cards and I can choose an additional 6 free from either Scrapbook trend, Ideas, or handmade and I'm not sure which to do.

Not sure about that one. I know Simple Scrapbooks is gone. They were put out by the company that publishes CK, and will just be absorbed by them.

I love Simple Scrapbooks but this is its last month :( I just received my last issue. I also get Creating Keepsakes as well as Scrapbook Trends, which I love! I used to also love and subscribe to Digital Scrapbooking, but that was another one that folded. Boo Hoo :(:(:(

HA HA HA - People that KNOW me would NOT be surprised by what I'm about to say - - It's NOT Simple Scrapbooks that I subscribe to, it's Scrapbooks, Etc. the very one I thought was going under. The reason I say that is because I just got a Scrapbooks, Etc. in the mail today. oh hum - yes, I'm working too much, not enough play time. So no wonder I had a hard time finding Simple Scrapbooks. :o

All this talk about defunct scrapbook magazines just reminds me of how much I miss Scrapbook Answers, which was the one with the discs. It's been gone two, two-and-a-half years, but I still hang on to all of my copies and still miss it. I could never connect with Scrapbooks, etc. and since the re-doing of Memory Makers I've been pretty much out in the cold by it. I liked Creative Keepsakes, but haven't even read that one in awhile.

Howdy - I've tried several subscriptions too - and I must say that the best is "CardMaker Magazine" - you can visit them at cardmakermagazine.com. They are now offering mags online. Once you see it there's no turning back. Paper subscriptions is $29, cheaper online, and they have special offer for current subscribers to get the online version. They allow 2 yrs. worth of archives. I read/look at my mags over and over and over - and for me, that's a huge compliment!

My favorite so far is Creative Keepsakes; it gives a variety (i.e. scrapbooking, card making, photo taking tips, organization, and FREE Templates/Layout ideas – love free don’t you:D). It also has sections for Q&A, featured person of the month, hot new items and store locator by state.

Scrapbook Answers went out around the fall of '06. :(

That's definitely been awhile. Thanks for pinpointing the date of SA's demise, Heather. I'm sure it's on the mags, but I don't look at the dates there. Trouble with old scrapbook magazines, though, is that even though you keep them around to remind you of techniques that appealed to you, some of the products aren't available anymore so the stores can make way for new trends. I like new stuff (who doesn't?), but some of the older ideas just seem to work right on my pages.
