I made two cards last night trying to emboss and I had to throw them both away!! Does anyone have any tips for embossing so that the paper doesn't warp when you heat the powder??

I've never had that problem before, Kim. Are you holding the heating gun too close to the paper?

Kim.. you may be holding your embossing tool too close to the paper... I ' preheat ' my tool for a second or two before aiming at the paper.... that way it doesn't take as long to 'emboss' the area.... hope this helps..

and you gotta keep that heat gun moving too...I've scorched & warped plenty of cards!

I usually start holding my gun a bit farther away and slowly get closer, until the powder starts to melt. And yes, keep it moving!

Good question, Kim. I've always had challenges with heat embossing. Good to hear the tips from all you experts on this mb. Thanks! :D

Yep - as the others have said, don't get too close to the paper, and keep the gun moving. The type of paper can make a difference too. Acrylic and vellum are particularly apt to warp.
Glad you asked about heat embossing Dizzy. I have always fried my card or not heated it long enough. Thanks for the input everyone.
So glad to be back on the boards again.
