I was wondering if you can run vellum through a computer printer? Thanks

Absolutely! Just make sure you let it dry for a bit before you use it. :)

Yes and make sure it drys so it will not smear.

Thanks for the help. I haven't tried it before, but I am wanting to make my son's graduation open house invites with it. :)

If you add embossing powder before it dries you can achieve great results. Trish :)

I should caution their are the occasional vellums out there, not sure how much you would run into it, that never seem to dry. I never have had that problem, but have heard of others that have. The best thing to do is to change your printer setting to "transparency" and that will help. The ones I've used usually dry in just a couple of minutes.

I have never tried this, but I do know that the heat gun will burn the vellum pretty easily (I was making shrinking dinks and someone said to put vellum on top--wrong thing to do:)) I may just have to try this. I print on vellum all the time.

Angela I have done this a few times and it has never burnt the vellum, I think the trick is to be careful and not to hold the heat gun too close or in one place for too long. Trish :) PS let me know how you get on with it.

I will def let you know. I'm sure it was my fault when it happened but the stupid little shrinky thing wouldn't shrink so I had to hold the gun there for so long :D It was pretty stinky too!

I find if I use the heat gun for shrinkies it is a disaster, so I put them in the oven. Trish :)

I did it without the vellum and it turned out great. I found that, against my better judgement, you had to keep heating until the curls went away and they turned out perfect. I'm sure anyone watching what I was doing that day would have died laughing. I had shrinky dink all over the room and they were all warped funny- now I know how to do it and it just takes 30 seconds and they are done. whew!

If you use The Perfect Printing Pouch before printing on vellum, it will come out of your printer about dry! It also stops smearing and bleeding so your results will be perfect. (This pouch also does many other totally different things! Watch this video for an overview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPAFgYwsibY
