OK - sounds like there may be enough interest to do a group Christmas scrapbook project again this year.
We have lots of suggestions for topics, but since we really can't figure out which would be best until we know for sure how many people will be involved, what we'd like to do is request you to SIGN UP ON THIS THREAD if you want to participate. Then we will probably post a poll listing the suggestions for which we have enough people to be able to do and let those who are signed up vote on which one they want to do.
REMEMBER please that this requires that you make duplicate pages for EACH PERSON WHO IS PARTICIPATING and that you MUST COMPLETE and MAIL YOUR PAGE BY THE SPECIFIED DEADLINE so that the books can be assembled and sent back out to participants in time to have them for the holidays.
You will also be asked to contribute to the cost of assembly of books & the postage to return the completed books to you (assembly costs very low, and postage will be lowest actual cost we can accomplish!)
While we would love to consider different sizes as well, last year 8 1/2 x 11 in portrait mode was used because it allowed for easily putting pages in page protectors and putting in 3-ring notebooks -- which each person could then take out and bind or otherwise make it into whatever kind of book they wanted. So bottom line we can do any size we choose provided it will fit into an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet protector so we can easily make temporary books out of them to get them to everyone...we will post a size poll as well for those who sign up to vote, and you can indicate whether you just want the pages back or if you want them in notebooks again...
SO - SIGN UP HERE PLEASE! The preliminary timeline looks like this, geared to allow time to mail books for non-USA folks who may sign up. We may adjust this schedule somewhat once we have a better picture of how many and who.
Sign-ups through: September 19 (next Sunday).
Poll to choose song and size: September 20 - 24
Assignment of sections to participants: September 25
Deadline for mailing pages & share of postage to Sam for assembly: October 30
Assembled books to be mailed to participants: November 15
So far these are the suggestions for themes. If you have other suggestions, please include them in your reply!
The Twelve Days of Christmas
Jolly Old Saint Nicholas
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Santa Claus is Coming to Town
Up on the Rooftop
The Christmas Song
