My name is Fabrizio but everybody end up calling me 'Febreze' as they try to pronounce it. I started playing a strategy game and for ease I started using Fabyon (which I later discovered is actually a Czech surname - LOL). Anyhoo I like it, so stuck with it.

Most people call me fab (not Fab as in fabulous though :D).

My daughters name is kasiah (pronounce kuh si uh...short u sound and long i sound) and when she was born I always called her kasiahbugs or sighabug

This is fun!

Wellll, I don't quite know how to explain the screen name. Old--by standards, I guess I have always been (or at least one of) the oldest of any of the scrappin' groups I have ever been at or with! (maybe not as old as I make it sound).

The MA part came when my girls were in sports and band in high school and all the kids called me MA because I was a sub-momma to all of them ie...bandma....trackma etc....I was ALWAYS there somewhere like the consession booth or shapperoning at band camp. I still see some of them today and they still call me MA. Love all the kids. My house is where all the kids gathered---some of them were always here. My biggest wish is that something I said or did influenced their lives in a positive way. Lots of prayers went out for those kids.

I love this -- great thread.
I agree "Fabulous" should be your screen name Fab. Love your cards.

Mine is pretty simple too. My last name is Currie and my 3 kids are active in everything from youth church activities to sports to dance. I spend a lot time at various practices and activities and have known other moms for years, but can't ever remember their names (I'm an accountant and if everyone had a number instead of a name I just might remember). I simply refer to all these wonderful ladies as "Julia's Mom" or "Brandon's Mom" etc. My husband once told me that it was like living on a message board where you get to know people without knowing their real names. So there it is.

My name Sonshine comes from my relationship with my scrap "buddy". Each time I sit down to design something, I always invite the Lord God to join me, and to help me when I hit the rough spots. I always pray that somehow His love will shine through each and everything I do.

Sonshine, when I was a teenager, we had a singing group from my church called "Heavenly Sonlight". In addition to myself, there were about 10 other teens. We traveled to area churches singing and giving our testimonies. The first time I saw your name, I was reminded of this group. It was a great time in my life. God certainly blessed me with a wonderful group of friends then. Few of them are among my closest friends today.

God has certainly blessed your work. Your layouts are beautiful.

I think my name says it all. I'm a travel agent that loves cruising. And touring. And Disney. And Hawaii. And and and and.....

I've been a travel agent since '89 but only scrapping since 2003. I used to just stick my pictures in a photo album but my daughter-in-law got me started building scrapbooks. She was my "soon to be daughter-in-law" at the time and got me started on a memory album of the wedding and the events leading up to it. I was hooked.

20 albums later, about a multitude of events, I am still going strong. I got started making cards a couple of years ago and am really enjoying that. They aren't as complicated as some but I like sending them to friends and family. And it uses up the scraps ;-)

Oh my gosh - I did that, too. There were about 40 kids in that group, and we traveled to a couple other states as well. What a great time that was. And - my co-op job in High School was working at a travel agency. The farthest I got was a ticket agent. ;) Thanks for your kind words.

Dear Sonshine,As you can see by my signature you and I have the same thing in mind when we sit down to make a card.We want it to be encouraging, comforting and let the person know, the special design ,just for them, came from our heart. :)

My dear 26 year old son,David, lost his battle with cancer Dec.2,2005.We received soooooo many cards.I still have all those beautiful cards of comfort.I got a few handmade ones and those really touched my heart because a lot of work and love goes into a homemade card. That is why I started to make my own cards.I want to send comfort and encouragement to others and there are so many people out there who need a kind word now and then.So now all of you know my story...Sandra

Oh,yes,I go by Sandra because it is my name.If you look it up in a baby book,Sandra means,Helper of Mankind.I don't really know why my mom and dad chose that name for me,but,in the light of what I want to give to others, help, comfort and encouragement by means of my card making ,it fits perfectly. :)

Sandra, I'm SO SO sorry to hear about your son. Losing a child has got to be life's hardest trial. None of life's experiences can prepare you for that. I'm so glad you had God to turn to. I love your signature, and it is so true. Everyday truly is a gift. Tomorrow never comes with a guarantee for anyone. We'll all have to cross that same threshold someday, but being human, we always tend to think it will be in some distant future. You have to be prepared. Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. I pray that all of your cards will touch and change the lives of every recipient. God Bless

Dearest MB friends,SuAnne and Angela,
I have told some on the MB about my son by sending them personal messages. But by thinking it over,I thought, there may be someone out there who may be in the same or similar situation and they may want to talk about it. I am always willing to talk to anyone who needs help going through something like this.I do know how they feel.It is heart breaking to lose any loved one, but, especially heart breaking losing a child.
It was so nice of you to write to me.Your writing me and sending me words of encouragement and comfort is like getting a homemade card from you with words from your heart. Those are always the best ones...Homemade from the Heart ~Sandra~ :)

That is a very different name. Both of my kids have unusual names. My daughter is very different and is not in any of the name boks or online anywhere. We did find out when she was 3 that my great great grandma's name was the same- Kasiah (kuh si uh, with short u and long i sounds.) My real name, Nyoka, has also opened doors for lots of discussion.... Before I was born in the mid 1940's my mom kept up with the movie serial "Nyoka the Jungle Girl" ... she always said if she had a little girl she was going to name her that... well... guess who came along?? lol

My husband (Elden) was born in the U.S. His grandfather immigrated to the US in 1854. We still have the old wooden steamer trunk in our bedroom that he used for his belongings. Most places I use mssquared which started out in college as MS to the 2nd power. My first & middle names are Mary Susan and I was dating Mike Sieczkowski so our friends said we had the same initials (sort of) MS and I was a math major thus the exponent.

After we got married and I was teaching, even adults have trouble pronouncing Sieczkowski (sis-cow-ski) and it was shortened to Mary Ski or Ms. Ski or Mrs. Ski so I started initialing and signing everything MSki. Who needs all those extra letters anyway?

I was always called "dizzy nizzy" in high school because my last name is Niznik and there were 4 or 5 Kim's on our sports teams. So, I find it easier to just use dizzy then come up with something for Kim.

I was born Mary Susan. My Mom called me Mary Sue. My brother called me Susie. My husband calls me Mary. So on my side of the family I am Aunt Susie. My great niece and nephew couldn't say Susie so I was Aunt Doozie for several years.

Okay, I can say that! It helps to hear it because if I just look at it I'm sure to pronounce it differently! :)

I wonder if Menominee is Finnish too. I know there's a number of Finns in the Upper Penninsula. I've worked in the UP and they say "yah" and "eh?" a lot.

Yep, I grew up close to Canada, eh? My dh's relatives were in the UP, the Houghton-Hancock area. Huge concentration up there of wonderful Finns. :D

When I see everyones "screen name" I always wonder "huh . . . what does that mean"

So Inquiring minds want to know . . . What does your "screen name" say about you?

I am married to a handsome bald man . . . hence "Mrscleanhead"

Come on an share . . . Inquiring minds want to know . . .

We have so many new folks on this board I thought that I would bump this one up to see what we can see! :)

So, I'm a little late to the party, but I will put my explanation in now. Mine is just my name Amy and "B" for Burgess, or Beth, you could use either since both my last and middle names start with B. I like to joke that my husband should have had a last name that started with a "C" so my initials could be ABC!
When I first started at my current job, we had to sign our initials when we completed a file. I used ABB. One of my coworkers couldn't figure out who ABBA was. I thought it was funny because that was one of my mom's favorite groups when I was growing up and my sister and I would always "dance" to their Super Trooper and Dancing Queen songs.

Well...I'm probably one of the oldest people on this board...I'm 58. I have 7 grandchildren and a multitude of god babies. I love Tweety Bird...hence the name!

I'm 59 with 7 grandchildren, so we're close to the same age.

My MB name is just my name. Not to creative, but everything I tried when I signed up was taken.

I chose Nonna3 because Nonna is Italian for Grandmother and I have 3 grand-daughters (the oldest two, 8 and 9 years already scrapbook with me when they visit!)

All the names I came up with were taken. I was looking at a piece of leftover easter chocolate trying to decide if I should eat it or just walk away from it. All I could think of was I REALLY NEED SOME CHOCOLATE. Hence the name. My last name, D'Anjou get garbled and butchered all the time. I usually either tell people to think of the pear. My son's friends have always just called me Mrs. D.

MrsTmuzik53 - I am a music teacher! Born in '53. I have always been called Mrs. T by the students. (Another teacher and I had the same last name, so I decided to make it easier for the kids to differentiate - hence, Mrs. T.) After all these years of teaching, I still run into plenty of past/present students who still will call out, "Hey, Mrs, T!".

My name comes from my two children.. my four legged ones. They are two great Danes, one is a 7 yr. old blue female named Gwynnavere that we call Gwynn. I live in Ohio, but both children are from Oklahoma. I got Gwynn for a birthday present from a breeder friend whose hubby is an over the road trucker. I have had her since she was 4 weeks old because a storm took out the kennels and part of my friend's house, so they both went on the road.
Gwynn is a snuggle bug/diva. She LOVES to dress up and show off for people. I trained her in sign language when I was going to college to be a sign language interpreter, so she knows commands in voice and sign. She LOVES to get in the shower with me and get her "bath", have her teeth brushed, get a massage and have her nails painted purple to match mine. LOL She likes to sleep in our king size water bed with her own blankets, snuggled up to me.
Thor is a 3 yr. old fawn male from a different breeder that I found on the internet. He was so pretty AND show quality! He's such a mama's boy that he has to go everywhere I go - except in the shower. He hates everything Gwynn loves. LOL He's a typical little boy.

lovemydanes - love that you trained Gwynn in sign language. My daughter is in her junior year studying to be a sign language interpreter. If and when I hear from her I'll have to tell her.

It is so good to hear of people who sign, my granddaughter is profoundly deaf (after a very serious illness when she was 2 1/2) and although she has hearing aids she lip reads and uses child sign. Trish:)

Hi!
I just saw this thread and thought to share my story. :)
My grandfather was quite a character. He loved to play with words and switch the first letters in a series to create funny sayings. For example, (phonetically) "soul of bereal" is bowl of cereal. LandyBreigh is Brandy Leigh, that's me. :)

I love this topic! Love reading all the different stories.

I became an Avon rep. over 16 yrs. ago. After a while I noticed that I'd be introduced to someone by my given name (Marie) and "You know her. She's the Avonlady." and the response would be "Of course! I know who you are. I just never knew your name." If I ever quit I don't know what I'll do. I could go by the other one I get..."you know, the one with the Halloween House". The 94 was the year I thought I had signed up (turns out I was off by a year, it was actually 93). Yes, I'm that old.
