My name is Sharon Marmon-Kaczorowski and I am so pleased Paper Wishes now has a message board! I've been shopping here for a long time...every since I started scrapbooking about 8 years ago. I would call myself an "artistic" scrapbooker, heavy into collage, though I also enjoy the occasional graphic page. I discovered scrapbooking shortly after I became disabled and it truly saved my sanity. I was severely depressed...but my grandson was born around the same time and keeping scrapbooks of him gave me purpose and a creative outlet that was relatively easy to access, even when I was feeling very bad or very down or both.

My illness is progressive (I have multiple autoimmune disorders) and I cannot scrap as long as I was able to when I started, but I am determined to stick to it. I love photography and have been working very hard to improve my skills. I want to create more collages than I have to date...I've done quite a few albums for others that required a more traditional approach. I'm finishing the last one now...a wedding album for my stepdaughter.

I am looking forward to getting to know you folks and to learning from you!

Hello Sharon, and welcome! I'm Heather from Michigan. My sister Melanie also posts here. We both love paper crafting (among other crafts). This place will fast become addicting!

Welcome GrammyTweetie. Adorable name. I'm right behind you at 57, but nearly as many wonderful grandbabies as you have. - Sigh - maybe someday. Scrapbooking IS very theraputic, and I'd like to think it helps keep us young. Food for the soul. We're glad you're here.

Welcome GrammyTweetie, I'm so sorry about your illness but I do understand how crafting does help you. I've been suffering from chronic agoraphobia (even get panic attacks inside), bipolarism (yep mood swings) and finally diabetes. So I needed something to keep me sane and paper crafting is definitely it ! :D

I can't wait to see your creations. X Fab

Hi Sharon! I'm glad you're here! I'm in your basic age group, too, and have health problems as well. I too find that scrapbooking is a wonderful outlet for stress, although our profiles differ sharply at the mention of "artistic pages". I'm more of a craftsperson than an artist but I'm happy with the results I achieve (sometimes) and enjoy the creative process. I look forward to seeing some of your work, should you chose to share it. Welcome to the Message Board!

It's nice to have you here :):)
I am older than you and with health problems also. Card making has been theraputic for me and is something I can look forward to every day! I make cards for soldiers in Afghanistan to send home to their families.

Welcome to the board. You'll love it here. I've been absent from the board, been busy. But everyone is so nice.
