"The Webisode video wont load!"
Make sure you have downloaded the latest Adobe Flash Player (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/). Make sure that all security software or browser plugins are set to allow Flash videos to load on the Webisode page. They may need to be disabled temporarily.

Keep your internet browsers up to date.

Firefox: here (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/firefox.html)
Internet Explorer: here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspx)
Safari: here (http://www.apple.com/safari/)

You may also want to try again later. Sometimes the video hosting site may be performing temporary maintenance or your local ISP (Internet Service Provider) is having problems connecting.

"Is there another option for watching the Weekly Webisodes?"
The Weekly Webisodes can be downloaded on iTunes. Visit our podcast and remember to click subscribe. The Webisodes can be set to automatically download every week.

Get iTunes: here (http://www.apple.com/itunes/)
Podcast homepage: here (http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=295107682)

I tried all of the above and it still wont load!
Please make a post with the following information:

Your operating system (ex: Windows Vista, 7, XP, Mac OS X)
Your internet browser (ex: Firefox, Internet Explorer)
Your connection speed and service provider (ex: Comcast Cable Internet)
What version of Flash Player are you running? Check here (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/).
Do you have any security software installed? (ex: Norton, McAffe, AVG)
Are you able to watch videos on Youtube?

The low bandwidth for this week's webisode (Dazzle transfer sheet) still plays last week's webisode (2 envelopes template). The high bandwidth plays the correct one, but since I have s-l-o-w dial-up it will take me forever to download it. :(

Sorry about that, Melanie. It will now work as intended.

Just wanted to say thanks again! My sister and I combine our PW orders and I added the set of transfer sheets and greetings Dazzles to the order after watching the webisode. I think I'm going to be using a lot of transfer sheets!

Me again! Thanks for fixing the problem with the brads webisode. However, the birthday cards webisode (the one after the brads webisode) is now fixed to play the birthday pages webisode. Guess they got them mixed up! Thanks for your help!

Oh no! That dreaded problem again. This happened before and I had to go through all the old video files to find it. I guess I just repeated the previous problem. :( I will get to work on it and keep you updated.

Sorry to complain again, but the low band-width for the webisode is playing last week's episode. Thanks in advance for fixing it!

Just so Melanie won't feel that this is her personal posting forum to Huston, I am unable to get the video to load here at work. I have been able to in the past and my flash player is up to date but it could very well be that the nasty IT folks are somehow putting the brakes on the stream. (I should kick them in the shins for it!!) What do they think I am in, a hospital?.... oh, yeah, I am.....

Just curious if it was an issue only on my end...

They are probably using a firewall that blocks according to the ports used so may well be blocking videostreams.

Hello:

I have been having issues with viewing the webisodes and I don't know what it could be.

I have a cable internet connection and when I go to view the webisode in high bandwith, the sound is perfect, but the picture freezes up and then moves with the talking and freezes again or the picture slows down and is slower than the talking. It makes me nuts because what I am seeing is not moving at the speed of what they are saying and showing. Here's what I've done:

Before I was using evil Internet Explorer, so I downloaded Mozilla and I also re-installed the newest Flash Player. Slight improvement but not enough. I disabled my wireless internet and hardlined my internet connection, that didn't help either. I don't have a firewall on either?? What is interesting is that when I view the webisode on Facebook, it works fine!

I tried viewing the webisodes in low bandwith but that makes me nuts because the picture is out of focus and I can't see the details in the projects.

Any suggestions on whats going on? Could it be the site? I tried viewing them at 2AM EST and I still have these issues.

Thanks!
Jennifer

It sounds like you have tried all of the conventional methods I would have recommended. It is odd that the low bandwidth would play just fine, but the high bandwidth would not. They both use the same server, flash player and all. The only difference is the file size.

Is it just one episode that you have tried? What version of Firefox did you install? For example, I am running Firefox 3.6 currently.

Something else to try:

Go to Tools on the menu bar at the top of Firefox. Then click "Clear Private Data..." Make sure cache is checked and click OK. Restart Firefox and try viewing the Webisodes again.

Let me know if you have had any luck trying that. Thanks!

Thank you for helping me with this.

I upgraded Firefox, so now I have the version 3.6 and I re-installed the Flash Player also. No improvement. It is so strange how each time I re-start the webisodes, the freezing of the picture will happen in the same places. The webisode would start out fine and then 10 seconds into it the picture it will start acting up but the sound is just fine. I have seen this happen with other webisodes as well, but some work better than others. In the low bandwidth, the picture freezes as well and the images are more pixelated.

I'm officially stumped now. By the way, I didn't see the option to Clear Private Data under Tools. Anything else I could try you think?

Jennifer

Huston
02-04-2010, 09:18 AM
Oops! I guess it is called "Clear Recent History..." under Tools now. You will want to click the down arrow at the bottom of that window and make sure cache is the selected box. You may want to uncheck the other boxes if you do not want that data cleared. Make sure the drop down menu has Everything selected. Try that and see if it helps.

It sounds like the download for the high bandwidth clips is getting interrupted at some point before it finishes downloading since the low bandwidth seems to come through fine. Did Internet Explorer have the same issue before you switched to Firefox?

jen0925
02-07-2010, 09:56 PM
I did have the same issue with Internet Explorer. It might be my connection because I noticed the same issue with viewing files on YouTube, but at this point I would much rather tolerate the picture issue than call my cable company about my connection. Their customer service is awful and I'm ashamed that they have my business, but the alternatives are just the same.

Well if you all could continue uploading the videos to Facebook, that you would be awesome. I don't have issues when viewing them there.

Thanks for your help Huston. :)

Sorry to hear about the connection issues.

Another option is the podcast section. The youtube and facebook clips are limited to 10 minutes, whereas the podcast section on iTunes is unlimited.

Here is a link to iTunes:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/

Here is a link to the iTunes store page:

You can also try downloading them directly from the RSS feed if you do not want to install iTunes, but they may not play in every media player:

I almost did cartwheels last night because I was actually able to view the webisodes perfectly through ITunes!! I was so happy last night. I actually watched one with no interruptions. Thank you so much for your continued help. Now I can enjoy the webisodes and be happy. :) Keep up the great work and support.

Sincerely,

You are very welcome!

The Podcast will be posted a day after the Webisodes have aired. (Sometimes later if I get swamped with video work.) I am currently compressing the newest video for iTunes as we speak, so it should be up tomorrow afternoon.

Hi Bootsie,

What operating system are you using?

What internet browser are you currently using?

What version of Flash Player are you running? You should be able to check that with this link (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/).

Do you have any security software installed?

Are you able to watch videos on Youtube?

Once we have these questions answered we can start working on a solution for you. :D

Hi Hutson, I watched a webisode this morning and now it's 11Pm and it won't load. The message..... Done but with errors on the page. I'm trying to view the high bandwidth. I've never had a problem viewing them before so I don't know whats wrong. It's nice to view them from the site instead of going to itunes.

I just checked all the videos. I can see any other the webisodes in high bandwidth. The low bandwidth plays but it's very hard to view.

I am guessing that our video host had a minor hiccup. It seems to be loading okay for me at the moment. Is everyone still having issues with it?

Huston,

Since I saw that folks were having trouble, I tried webisodes this morning when I first got on, and then again now -- and have had no trouble. I AM running Firefox. (Maybe that's making a difference?)

Working fine under a MAC with Safari, Firefox and Opera. Under Windows 7 it's ok with IE8 although it buffers a bit before starting. Under XP it's fine ! Don't have Vista but I know that OS is just troubles and nightmare... :D

Welcome to the forum, Edre !

As Huston put at the beginning of his thread, it would be helpful to know what Operating System you have on your computer (Windows or MAC) and version (XP, Vista, Win7 etc..)

Also have you checked if you're running a firewall as it would stop the video streaming...

If you have iTunes installed on your computer you can subscribe to the webisodes podcast.

There's also some anti-virus software that will have in their preference a flash disabler (the webisodes use flash) so that could be it too..

I'm just guessing here so...if you could give us more details about your pc then I'll try my best to help you.

Good morning!

Iam unable to download this weeks webisode, or anything from your project gallery. I dont have any problem with youtube downloads. I have recently downloaded the new Explorer 9, could this be the problem?

Huston, my sister Melanie told me she is having problems with the sound on last weeks Webisode (Flower and Heart Jewel Dazzles). She has dial-up, and was watching it in the low bandwidth. I watched it in high bandwidth and had no problems. Tonight she mentioned she was watching it in low, so I just tried it and have the same problem. Since it's two different computers it does it on, I'm wondering if it's the program and not her computer. The sound clicks and then goes off while Paulette is showing the very first card. Any ideas? Thanks!

fabyon
04-08-2011, 07:16 AM
It could be any variables Heather ( a wave to Melanie ).

I just checked testing on dial-up and it works for me.

Make sure you have the latest Flash installation as the video is streamed using a script with Flash;

Flash can be checked and downloaded here : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

Sometimes very old Flash version need to be totally uninstalled with a flash cleaner utility (supplied by the very same site) otherwise the new version can't be installed on top and create issues.

Like anything else if you're not sure don't do anything and ask someone who is a bit more technically savvy ( not trying to be patronising but it's very easy to mess up some settings without knowing, I've done it myself in the past ).

Also make sure you install the newest version of flash disabling temporarily your anti-virus, restart your computer after the installation and make sure your anti-virus is back on.

I hope this help,

X

I am running internet explorer 8, windows 7, comcast cable internet, version of adobe flash player: 11.205.11, I have avast for antivirus.

The screen comes up blank, but I can hear the voices. I can watch youtube with no problems.

I don't know how to look up flash plugins and I am not sure what to do at this point. There was a time several months ago that I could view the webisodes but now I am unable to.

Hi Cindy,

The sound but no video error does sound like a bizarre error.

My first thought would be that Flash Player did not update properly, but with Youtube working, it might be a long shot. You can try reinstalling it by downloading it here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

As I was writing this reply, I updated the Webisode movie player to see if that resolved any of your issues as well.

Let me know if any thing improves after you have re-downloaded Flash.

What about using the Vimeo player in HTML5 I assume your vids are in H.264 format ? You completely lose the nightmare that Flash is becoming, just a thought ! :) Since their player is embeddable you could carry on putting them on the webisode site and also have more visibility on their site which is up and coming and nifty competitor to Youtube...

Huston
11-28-2011, 09:14 AM
We are actually using a Flash player that will switch to HTML5 when Flash is unavailable, but for some people in this thread it isn't seeming to work very well. I will definitely keep Vimeo on the list for alternatives if we ever need to make the switch.
