I got the brass paper piercing border template, but I can't figure out how to work it. I'd like to be able to line it up to make perfect borders for cards and such, but it didn't come with instructions on how to use it. Can anyone help me? What do all the grids on the template mean? My piercings come out looking like the Lock Ness Monster!:(

I have a brass paper piecing template, but I'm afraid I don't have one with grids so I'm not sure. I just line my edges of the card with the template most of the time. Or you can try a light table...Sorry I'm no help

Where did you get this template? If there is a way to look at the picture of it online, or somehow, I might be able to help you, but I'm not sure what the grids are like that are on it.

make sure you pierce keeping the tool very straight and vertical otherwise if you go 'in' in different ways then the tiny holes won't be the same size. If it's a border template it's to do borders which should match on the corners where they meet. You don't have to use all the elements in a template you pick and choose what you want to use. Both side of the paper can be used some people like the front side with no paper lip around the tiny holes and others like that dimensional feel on the other side. Up to you which one you want to use. And yes it would be helpful to know which template you're referring too as they are so many types.

Hi crafty person!
I looked at the template you are talking about....it seems to be made for a particular craft....pergamamo paper crafts...i have done some of that. You should be able to still use it on regular paper, as Fabyon suggested. Ignore the gridlines on it, decide where you want your border to be and then just be sure you line it up all the way around, you will have to turn the template on to each side of your paper....if your paper is a different length or width than the pattern, either eliminate some of the repeats to make it shorter or add repeats to make it longer....but make sure the corner paaterns end up in the corners of your paper....does that make any sense at all or is it more confusing?

Thank you Sister. It's still confusing but I guess I'll just have to practice with it. God bless!
