Since so many scrap over the weekend, thought it'd be fun to post on Monday what we got accomplished over the weekend. I probably got to scrap the least. Sometimes even the best laid plans can run amuck. Ended up with MAYBE 2 hours to scrap at tops. So - this is my meager offering. (And I really MUST clean my scanner glass  that's on my to-do list too)

This is the cover and first 3 pages of the Boy version of Sugar and Spice.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

Oh how darling! I love it! I didn't actually finish anything, as I was helping Cody at the crop Saturday, and yesterday I didn't even have time to craft. Hopefully will finish something soon to post.

I love how the book is coming out---love all the sewing and those scallops.
Wonderful-beautiful.

I have finished up my page kits for the week (2 classes) (about 35 double page kits) and wheooo am I glad to be done. They were a little intricate and involved and took some brain work--which is taxing for me. I have had a cold and that made matters worse. Better now though. I had to clean up before I could do anything for myself---didn't leave much time but I did get to play a little. So many projects and soooo little time. I'm still working on the envelope books!

Thanks so much... it looks totally funky scanning it, and not being able to get the whole page in without digitally stitching it, and seeing it in it's "naked" stage like that looks strange, too. I'm so used to doing frilly things for girsl - this turned out to be more of a challenge in the embellishment department than I thought it would be. :( got to brush up and get creative on the boy stuff.

Glad you're better Oldma and that you're finished with your class kits. I'm still working on mine, but hope to be finished soon. Can't wait to see the envelope books!

Oldma, if you're anything like me - when I make up a bunch of page kits like that, nearly every room in my house is taken up with some aspect of it. I got so tired of putting tape on the back of my bedroom door for photograping finished pages - I just left it up there. Hope I don't ever have to explain that bit of odd decor to anyone who drops in ;) Last time it took me an entire day to put all that stuff away. I'm so thankful my fam. understands.

That's a neat background idea for photographing your layouts! I use the top of my chest of drawers and 2 sheets of copy paper...LOL!

Well here's the really strange situation I have for photographing indoors - you would think that living in SUNNY Arizona, I would have TONS of light in every room. But we Arizonans go to great lengths to keeping the sunshine OUT, and even though I have tons of windows in my house, they're all north/south facing. I totally prefer natural light to artificial for photographing art work, so finding just the right time of day can be taxing. So when I have a lot of pages to photograph, I put masking tape on the back of my bedroom door, set my tripod up and it's a breeze to just take one down and put another up. No fussing much with camera angles. It works pretty well.

We have lots of cloudy to partly cloudy days in KY, so I have to use a lamp lots of the time to photograph my projects. You're right, natural light is the best. Arizona sounds like a great place to live for lots of sunshine, Sonshine :D

Well, its a little past Monday morning here, but I spent my morning looking for my son's baseball glove. It had disappeared, and we have a game tonight. I've looked everywhere for the darn thing -- even in place I'm scared to go like under his bed and in the floor of his closet (If you've ever had a eight year old boy, you'll understand this). Luckily I didn't find anything that was currently or had recently been alive. Then my sister who is a secretary at my kids' school called and said that the gloves was in Coach's lost and found, so I finally have a chance to post my weekend's lo's. The picture quality isn't the greatest. The lighting in my house isn't great and its been cloudy and rainy all morning. I had to use the flash, so they'd be bright enough to see. My dh is the photographer in the family, so I haven't used our new camera much. I'll try to get better since I think he'll draw the line at taking pictures of pictures.

Well, technically I didn't do all those this weekend. I don't have a craft room, and all my goodies are crammed in a closet. Also my house isn't that big. If I have all my stuff out at once, it tends to take over the whole house. So I tend to work in stages. During stage 1, I try to come up with designs for 8 to 10 pages. Then in stage 2, I dig all my paper and embellishments out and match those to designs. Then all those supplies go back in the closet and in stage 3, I pull out all the tools. Then in stage 4, I assemble the pages. By Friday afternoon, I had stages 1 and 2 completed and some of the pictures matted. Then on Friday night and Sunday afternoon, I finished up. I also was assisted by my 6 year old. She loves to "help".

Thanks for sharing your tag book. It's terrific!! I saw one somewhere this weekend -- pw summer catalog, maybe? It looked like a lot of fun. Don't tell anyone, but I've never made a mini book. Looks like I need to add one of these to my project list.

OH MY GOSH - you've all been SO busy - and everything is just so beautiful. Currikidsmom, you are too funny, girl. Yep - I remember those days all too clearly - You DON'T want to go in there... Cantstopstampin - LOVE the mini book. Just too precious. I just want to hurry through what I've started and get at another one. (which reminds me Cantstopstampin- ever tried rounding up old antique books - removing the covers and using them for covers of your minibooks? SUCH fun - that's what I'm doing next) Fab - as I said earlier - you're FABULOUS...MrsCleanhead, your cards are exquisite as always. And I simply must try the cartoon link. This looks awesome! I am very impressed by what everyone has done over the weekend.

I got a chance after I finished (FRIDAY'S :( ) work early to add a couple more pages to the baby boy book. But I won't post them 'til next week. Yes - by all means - let's keep this going, shall we?

Oh, I didn't get to do anything. I went to a reunion of some old friends that took up all day Saturday. Then because we were going to get a lot of rain I got out and finished planting my flowerbeds

I hope to post something this week. I have a lot to do with B-days and Mother's Day, and oh yea there is a thank you card and I can't forget those needing a card because they are sick....oh I need to get up and get off this MB and get busy!

Morning, Love the pics. You do lovely work. Know what you mean about embellishments for boys/men pages. I just finished 2 concertina card books for dads. I had a hard time with the embellishments. Now I want to work on a wedding card book but haven't worked the design out in my head yet. Scary place for it to be. Have a good day. Judi
