I need some ideas for a card swap for birthday cards for older boys or men? Any one has a few to share?
I don't have anything in particular I use for men but I always seem to drift towards hobbies or sports for them. That and I use a lot of browns and blues. Hope you get lots of inspiration here. Good luck with your swap...they are so much fun!

On yesterday's Webisode on Shaped & Birthday Cards from the Paper Flair Kits (3-31-09), Sara showed a cute shaped card of a car.
I bought the Masculine Value Pack from Paper Wishes, although I haven't used it. (Yes, I admit, I hoard paper.) It has, in addition to paper, the Workbench Ephemera book, which I think you can also buy separately. They are cut-outs of old-time tools, hardware, and such.
The Masculine Value Pack also includes the Artsy Collage Masculine Collage Kit, which has papers and cut-outs. Although originally intended for use on 3-D collage items, but could be easily adapted for cards. The subjects include nautical/sailing, tools/Dad, African safari/adventure, old-time cars and such, and fishing/outdoors/nature. This book might also be sold separately.
I think the Masculine Value Pack is an excellent value. Now if I would actually get around to using it...
There is also the Masculine sarapapers, which, once again, I recently bought but haven't used yet. You could search the Paper Wishes website for ideas using these papers for cards.
Hope this helps! :)

I use lots of browns, blues and greens. I keep the message on the front short and sweet. Then write a personal message on the inside. Good luck with your swap.

I usually turn to nature as a theme (leaves, trees, animals etc) but I am also using some of the Edwin stamps lately.
Feel free to have a look at both my blog (http://kookaburracrafts.blogspot.com) or my docrafts gallery (http://www.docrafts.co.uk/community/profile/profile.aspx?buddy=47141) for inspiration.

I have made several cards for males with same idea. I saw in one of the mag, a cute idea using a squirrel and nuts but then used my own ideas. I omitted the squirrel and just found different kinds of nuts. It meant Go nuts on your birthday. Instead of writing nuts they were sorta scattered in after Go. I just used different ways of getting the message across. They were cute cards. For one of my son's birthday I made the card using paper with green and white checks and then wrote across the top Check out whos turns 52 above a small picture of him when he was about a year old. I also make my own verses to fit the person. I like making up ideas and using photos.
