Any of you receive the Scrapbook Personal Shopper? I just got the May one and it includes Dazzles! And the Floral Backgrounds paper pack. I just love getting my monthly present to myself :). I especially love the paper of course, as a paper addict. I love to look at each sheet and just "pet" the paper. This pack is beautiful. Such great colors and gorgeous floral patterns. I can't wait to start playing with it.

I do! I do! And now after your description of it, I cannot wait to get mine. Hopefully it will be here today.
I too love the first of the month when my kit arrives. I have been a member since they started and have liked almost all of the kits. My only complaint is having time to get one month finished before the next one arrives. I think I am about 2 months behind right now....

I've been thinking of signing up, just haven't yet. I may sign up around Christmas for my Mother for her Christmas gift this year. We'll see.

It woud be nice to get new things every month.
Honestly, I had no idea about it until I started on this message board. I'm so glad that I found out though!

I do not get the scrapbook monthly kit, but I subscribe to the monthly card kit and the bi-monthly stamps. Great way to build up inventory, and it is like a present to myself! (greedy little booger that I am!!!~ haha)

Oh I don't even try to use up the goodies for the month. I just don't have enough time to do that much scrapping. But I do think it's a great way to increase my stash, and have it all be stuff that coordinates.
But I would love to see any projects you all complete with the monthly kit. So if you get to play with the goodies before I do, try to post here. The idea sheet that comes with the kit has great projects, but you can never have too many sample ideas.

I am thinking this is one of the best kits I've gotten! Love the floral patterned paper and Dazzles used together. So pretty!

I borrowed Heather's CD in this kit to see how they used the Dazzles and the Floral Background paper, both of which I have. I was glad to see Sara dry embossing around Dazzles adhered on vellum, as I was having problems with this (I complained about it on another thread).

:)This sounds like a good idea, getting a new package of goodies every month. But,I already have a bunch of everything I have picked up here and there.I need to use some of these already purchased items before I can even think of getting this monthly package.I hit the bargain stores, thrift stores, yard sales and pick up really low priced items so my stash just keeps growing.I really hit a good deal about a month ago.I went to a flea market and a man there had hundreds of wooden stamps. They were dirt cheap. He didn't know what he had, but I did...A serious card maker knows her products, right girls?Well,I cleaned house on him. I smiled all the way to the car as if I had just robbed a bank!!!! I felt a little bad for him  but he was glad to get rid of them. His loss was my gain.Even my husband said I ripped him off.The deal was even sweeter, because I had bought so many stamps, the man gave me a discount, which made me smile even more...:)

I checked some thrift shops here and was discoraged at the prices. It was such a waste of time. I'll have to see about flea markets and garage sales maybe.

Believe it or not, I walked through one of my favorite craft stores today, even with coupons in hand and did not buy one thing.
I think that is a sign that there is nothing new or I have it all! Oh my!

:DSure you can come shopping with me!!! Wouldn't that be fun to have all of us girls hit a flea market all at once!?!?
I actually want to go to that same flea market where I sort of "robbed" the guy to see if he had any stamps stashed away and has now put them out.He probably didn't but it's only a few minutes away from my house so it is not really a problem to get there.I'll bet if just you gals who responded here went with me to the flea market we would have cleaned the guy out!!! Oh,I forgot to mention he also had ink pads and a few other craft items but no paper.I didn't need any ink and I wondered if they were dried out or not so I didn't buy any. :)

Oh my goodness you made me LOL. I never thought of it that way. I was just sad that I couldn't find something I thought I needed.
But never fear took my Mom to M's and found two colors of the Primsa pencils that I didn't have and I bought some solid ribbon so I could use my Dazzles on it.
Whew! Avoided the crisis.

I didn't think I'd get to use some of the goodies from this month's personal shopper, but I found that the dot and stripe paper in the floral packet was perfect for the sketch I wanted to try to make. If you don't know, Letsscrap.ning.com, is a great community of scrappers and they have awesome sketches. To see the page I made visit my blog.

:)I have done this so I know it can be done.I have actually gone to an outlet store in our area called "Ollies" that carries GREAT BARGAINS of craft stuff and not even purchased a single thing. Yes,not a single penny did I spend on any craft items. That was yesterday.I looked and was TEMPTED by a 12 X12 package of paper for $2.99 but I have sooooo much paper that I just couldn't with a good conscience buy it.I flipped through the pages and drooled when I came across a few pages with butterflies on it.But I held to my guns and said to myself maybe next time.So,K2,you can be strong girl!!!! Look ,but don't buy and see how proud of yourself you are for not caving in!!

I went to a craft store yesterday which is local to me (6 miles away !) we are quite rural here :)
Anyway, I have been before - I found her very very expensive and vowed not to go again. Anyway, I did yesterday. She wasn't very welcoming - and she was very quiet. I looked around and just could NOT find any enthusiasm to buy anything......................I REALLY HOPE THAT YOUR NOT CONTAGIOUS AND ITS SPREADING ACROSS THIS BOARD :)
I did however, pick up some very large brads, they were metal and very much like gromlets. I went to pay for them = £5.99. I had only £5 in cash and went to give her my debit bank card. She said 'Oh, I don't take that you'll have to go and get the cash' - so I left the shop and walked up towards the bank, time was short on my car parking, and I thought, oh blow it and I went and got in the car and came home instead.

Do you think there is something wrong with me too? Do I need to go see a stash doctor or something?

Sounds instead like perhaps you should open a scrapbook store - your personality and charm would bring some real competition to that old goat. :D 5.99 that's what in Dollars? $9 or something? Is she crazy? No - I don't think you need a stash doctor, just a better source for stash !!!

Is that woman for real ? Time to drag her into the 21st century ! No wonder 1/3 of all businesses fail in the first year of opening people have no business sense....
Mind you I've had a paypass/paywave card combined with my oyster (underground/bus prepay pass) for over a year and I'm yet to find a merchant with the proper terminal. Basically any purchase under 10 pounds I should be able to tap the card and pay instantly. A few shops have it but not my corner shops which should be one of the first to implement it.
Well done on not coming back if she can't be bothered to accept cards she doesn't deserve to stay afloat ! :D
And now for something a bit different...I've made up my mind and will join Stampin' Up ! YAY I'll be sending the form next week. I'm doing it to get the discount and I'm sure I'll find some people to tag along with me when I need to place an order for my quarterly commitment (don't want to lose the precious discount LOL) :p
So wish me luck ! :)

that is fabulous Fab - well done.
I am so exhausted this afternoon - I have finished my ATC book - wanted to get onto another book I fancied doing, but too tired.
I am going to pop the crafting channel on on TV - and go put my feet up with a cuppa.
Speak to you all very soon.

And not only could you manage to find what you were looking for in your VOID - you've already finished and moving onto something else. Wow - I can't keep up, girl. I am so motivated by you.

:eek:WOW,you guys need to come on over to Ohio and let me take you all shopping.Good for you girl for walking away from that very "RUDE" person!!In talking with Fab I've found things must be very different price wise outside the US.Don't you have any discount stores, flea markets, yard sales, etc in England? How about E-BAY??I buy a ton of low priced craft items on E-BAY.I usually check prices there and then shop around my craft stomping grounds to see if I can get it cheaper there.I can get Martha Stewart craft items at Wal-Mart for a much lower price than E-BAY,so E-BAY doesn't always get my business.I am a very frugile person and I will walk away from a deal and search other sites and compare prices.I will even ask for more of a discount on E-BAY and 9 times out of 10 they will say yes.Especially if I buy more than one item or I have bought from them before.I get VERY friendly with my sellers.I guess you could say,I butter them up.Hey,those discounts I ask for add up and I have gotten more than one great deal and that is more money in my pocket. It doesn't hurt to ask:rolleyes:
be brave!! :D

I agree with you Fab...It is no wonder so many businesses fail soon after they open. Some times it's the economy but at times it is because of poor management.Sounds like the lady who owns the craft store won't be there long. You will get no where being a nasty person to your customers.
What do you mean you will be joining "Stampin UP"?I don't understand...I just read "discount "on your message.Hey,remember who your friends are :D.I was your first remember ! LOL ~Sandra~
