I have been a bit quiet this week - you've probably seen the board be quieter than usual :D:D:D
Anyway...............'raising eyes to the ceiling' - I've been a bit busy, with work and the decorator at work was in - it all looks very nice now - pity my coworker had to come back to work today to ruin it all - it looks very untidy with her in it. :D (you may recall I have a very difficult woman to work with)
AND ............... it's now 7.40 and all the chores are done and I am now going to do some FAT BOOK pages.
Speak soon.
What you up to.

Hi ya. Morning from 'not so sunny at the moment' England...............
Fat Books - (FAP's? Fab)
4"x4" little pages which you decorate like an ATC or LO etc - themed or unthemed etc etc - made into little books - you do decorate both sides - I was thinking tho of making the 4"x4" little LO's (Fat Book Pages) and sticking them back to back so they will be 'fatter' and much more sturdier, IYKWIM.
You leave a half inch space down the right hand side so that you can bind it - but usually they're held together with book rings.
Now 'Blush' - I have only done a couple of pages - didn't do any last night afterall - cos I got 'talking' via emails to various friends and texting my new friend at work who's into paper crafting etc.
That 'exploding box' I made a couple of weeks ago as a birthday card 'kinda' for my friend - I am finally finishing off - but I am now using it as a demonstration when myself and friends get together week after next to 'crop'.
Happy Friday everyone - I'm not at work although I have two reflexology treatments to do - so will speak or see you all later.

Fat Books - (FAP's? Fab)
I've seen it being called so many things FLAP (Fat Little Art Pages), FAP(Fat Art Pages), Fat Book, 4X4, ...:p
Not sunny at all in London today, overcast today, taped some craft shows on QVC UK gutted that they're not doing easipay on the TSV. :(

What do you know! I'm a fat book (I always wondered what I was). I'm 4x4x4 only it's feet-not inches, and I'm usually held together with book rings, too, or so it sometimes seems!
My baby album is mushrooming. My friend (who is a scrapbooker) sends me new pictures all the time and I'm loathe to omit any of them. I've dug out embellishments from my stash I don't even remember buying. Do you have such a great hoard of possibilities at your fingertips that doesn't even ring a bell of recognition when you see it?
I wish everyone a Happy Friday too!

I know what you mean FAB - I have no money - on a very tight budget - but thought if they did an easy payment thing on the Slice I might have been tempted today - but DONT THINK DH would be very happy !
Yes, I have quite a lot of stuff that I have forgotten I've bought - have recently gotten back into flowers ! - I went mad buying them when I first started crafting - and then didn't use them - so i'ts nice to be looking through them again and using them up.
like on the top of that exploding box I made (think it's in my albums) - that'#s a giant flower. delicious.

Hi Gilly - Nice to see your smiling face back here. We missed you. I've been 'away' of sorts myself. Getting ready for our big holiday weekend, and for us, extended into a week long vacation. And BOY, do I need it. Being away from my computer for a week is freaking me out a little, printing out digital stamps I think I'm going to want to color for cards, making slip covers for floor pillows, and gathering supplies to paint a new welcome sign for the cabin. Now knowing me - if I get ONE of those things accomplished, I'll be doing great. :D It's been years and years since we've had a vacation.
So sorry your co-worker pain-in-the-butt had to come back to work and spoil everything. She must be a reall hoot, that one. Those fat pages sound cute. Can't wait to see them :p
Good mornin' all from NOT so sunny Arizona. (that's rare in itself)

Thanks for the info. now I understand what FAT Books are. I think I made a Fat Book for my DGS and didn't know that was what I was making.
Sun shine here in Texas today, but we have rain in the forecast for the weekend. I'm out next week. Taking my DGS to San Antonio to Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld.
Then it is back to work for me. I have been retired for 2 years and I'm going back to work to give the ole retirement acct a breather. I'm going kicking and screaming, I really do not want to do this but I promised I would, so here I go.

Yep - I know you have rain in the forecast 'cause it's coming this way. :D Thanks a lot K2 - we really needed it.
I do hope you have a WONDERFUL time on your trip. It sounds like great fun. Be sure to get lots and lots of pics.
Sorry to hear it's back to work for you. I'd be royally kicking and screaming, too. "see" you when you get back! Be safe - God's protection over you all.

Everyone who is going away - can you pack me in your suitcase ?
I need a holiday. Our finances this year have been pretty bad - it's a long story. I too had to go back to work, kicking and screaming after 12 years being at home - I was working, doing alternative health therapy treatments - reflexology, indian head massage and I taught it too - but it really was a case of, I worked when I wanted to.
NOW I HAVE to go to work 4 days every week - and it's killing me - PLUS - as I said I have an awful coworker - it's been 5 months of hell so far - and I am desperately looking for another job but unfortunately with the economic downturn there aren't that many 'GOOD' jobs about. BUT I shall keep on keeping on.
SO WE NEED A HOLIDAY TOO - just give me the directions and I'll join you all.
- Seriously, HAVE a wonderful holiday and we look forward to chatting again when you get home.
Bye.

Gilly - I would love nothing more than to whisk you away from all that in my suitcase. Would't we have SO much fun??? NO TV, no phones, (unfortunately no internet) , just birds singing and the sound of the wind through the pines - and of COURSE lots of scrappin' going on. What a dream. ;) You'll be going in my thoughts, though, and thanks for the well wishes. I DO hope things improve for you at work. Nothing more miserable than having to spend hours everyday with people you can't stand. Especially when there's something else you'd rather be doing.
Everyone have a SAFE and FUN FILLED holliday.

Someone once said "If you can't whistle on your way to work, then you don't need that job!" But with today's economy.... not too many people whistling, job or no job!!
I can't wait for our little mini vacation in July!!! I so love the mountains and I thought with my health I would never get to make the trip again... My wonderful hubby is making this happen... didn't I get a gem?
Everyone stay safe!!!
May God bless

Hi everyone. I haven't posted much in the last 3 weeks or so. We've been so busy with the kids' soccer, baseball, dance, and end of the school year field trips and parties. Add to that our annual year-end audit at work and a flooded garage. I haven't had much time to post let alone do any scrapping. I have kept up with you guys by logging on while grabbing a bite to eat. As always you amaze me with your beautiful layouts and cards not to mention all those creative projects.
I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. Soccer season is over. The kids' school year ended yesterday (Yea -- no more homework to check), and my girls' dance recital is tomorrow. Even though I'm not getting a chance to scrap, I am getting a lot of pics for future projects.
I'm also envious of those of you who are headed for vacation. I love to travel, and we usually take a vacation every summer, but there have been so many layoffs where my dh works and he's taken on so many additional responsibilities that he doesn't feel like he can take off for a week. So we're going to take a few weekend trips. I hope all of you who are vacationing during the next week or so have a safe trip and a wonderful time, and for those of us who are stuck at home this weekend, I hope you have lots of time for crafting. God bless.

Hummmmm interesting question...... who would I take....?? Well... I sure wish my Mom were living... I would love to take her to the mountains in TN as that is where her dad came from and I would love to visit the places he walked as a young person with her...
But, she is luckier than me... she is with him in Heaven... they are probably sitting there laughing at me for wanting them back here when they have streets of gold and walls of Jasper....
God bless

If I could choose, I would actually repeat the vacation I went on in February, with the very same people. My 15-yr old son, my father and I all went on a 17 day trip to Israel and Egypt. The only thing that would have made that better is if my dh went, but I couldn't talk him into it. At least he let me go.

Didn't you have trouble to get into Egypt once your passport was stamped by the Israel custom ?

Nope, but we were with a tour group. No problem at all, just took so long and we had to tote our own luggage. But I would do it over again in a heartbeat. We even had soldiers board our bus at several check points in Israel, complete with machine guns. But I knew the Lord was with me, and I was never the least bit scared.

Heather, I'm sure your trip was amazing. My oldest dd is obessed with ancient Egyptian history. After she finishes her phd, she wants to spend half the year over there doing research and the other half back home writing books. Since she's only 11 that is all subject to change --i guess we'll see. Have you scrapped your vacation yet? If so, please post a few pages. I'll show my dd and watch her turn green with envy.

No, I haven't. I've only done one page, and it's very simple due to the paper I used. I am wanting to scrap it using some certain templates I have, but can't find them. I will have to take a pic of the one page and post it tho. And it will be soooo hard to pick out which pictures to scrap, as between the three of us, we took almost 5,000 pictures! Believe me, I am not printing them all!

No, I don't think I have that much adhesive! :D I figured even if I printed that many when Snapfish has their 9 cent deal, it would cost over $400! And I only bought 3 albums to scrap my trip in.

Well, we wouldn't want to have an adhesive shortage. We'll just have to make do with the ones you pick.:D

Sounds like a wonderful trip.
I too would love to take my mom and dad on a holiday - my dad died at 50 and my poor mom at 62 - yet their siblings are still with us at 80 years old, I feel very envious of my cousins having had their mums and dads for all those years, I feel very cheated.......................I did have the best parents tho. I suppose I am grateful for that, there are many who can't say that.
Right, it's almost 7 am, I need to go food shopping as its a Bank HOliday weekend here in UK.................the crowds (the kids, who are adults) are complaining there is no food in the house.

There's your problem picking up the wrong retailers ! :D
After Asda telling me that I went in and deleted my order on the day it was due (I didn't) basically calling me a liar, I stopped using them. Tesco never seemed to have anything in stock at all. The best ones that never gave me any trouble: Sainsburys and Ocado. I use to treat us to Ocado every now and then but since Sainsburys stopped the free deliveries, I went for Ocado monthly subs of 9 quid for as many deliveries as I want. They price match nearly all Tesco products so we're eating less but better quality !:) They even have internet only prices (so it's dearer at the local Waitrose), I can call myself middle-class now I shop at Ocado/Waitrose ! :D
Forgot tell you, you can use www.mysupermarket.com where you do your shop online and then print it so you know in advance how much you're spending and can see better the better deals, etc....it compares the four ones for the cheaper basket !

I still can't believe you can get grocery delivery! Nothing like that here in the states that I know of. At least my hubby works at a grocers, so he can pick up stuff. Of course, a lot of times he either gets the wrong thing or forgets. I do like to get out shopping tho, cause usually it also means a stop at Hobby Lobby and/or Michaels. :D
