I think I'm going to have to get this! We have Binder Park Zoo about 20 minutes away.

I'm thinking the same thing Heather! This is adorable and though we don't have a Zoo near us, my nephew loves animals! Cute layouts in the offing!

I've been wanting to go to Binder Park Zoo. I think Josh would enjoy it. We'll have to ask on our next visit to Battle Creek.

Jodi, how often to you get to Battle Creek? Have you ever been to the zoo? I was really surprised when I discovered they are one of only a few zoos here in the US that have cheetahs. Cheetahs are my fav wild cat. Maybe we could meet up someday.

Yeah, that would be cool to meet ya! And I haven't been to the zoo in several years, although I usually drive right past it on my way back home from a shopping trip in BC.

Cheetahs? Cool!

We go to BC every other month or so. Jon's family is all from BC, GR, and Portage. His mother and aunt live in BC, so we're out there several times a year. Chelsea's the half-way point, so Jon usually treats me to a stop at the scrapbook store there on our way back to Detroit. MIL usually comes here in June for her summer visit. I'm hoping we'll go out there for the 4th.

That's cool Jodi! So how familiar are you with the BC area? Not tons to do there, but yes, the zoo is very nice. Yes, we will have to make plans to meet up sometime.

Isn't the Detroit Zoo open anymore? It's been about 20 years since I've been back "home" (Royal Oak/Warren), but I used to LOVE the Detroit Zoo. Bears were my favorites - and then they have the polar bear exhibit which is marvelous. They have a super cool thing out here at the Phoenix Zoo at Christmas - for an entire 6 weeks between Thanksgiving and New Years, they put on a light exhibit. All the trees are covered with LED lights. Kind of strange to go to the zoo after dark :D

Binder Park used to do that too. I think I only went once, as usually it was soooo cold. Not many of the animals were still out, but it was neat seeing the zoo all decorated up. I've never been to the Detroit Zoo, so not sure if it's open.

My favorite was the Bronx Zoo (http://www.bronxzoo.com/). I haven't been there since I was a young adult (you don't want to know how long ago that was). Central Park was OK, but not like the Bronx.

I've been to the Bronx Zoo, twice actually. The second time I took a lot of pics, but I still need to scrap them. They were taken years ago--I won't say how many years either, as I also went as a young adult. Those pics will be different to scrap as they were taken with 126-size film, which is printed as squares. That was my first camera and they don't make that size any more. Now I am really dating myself!

Well sis, do you even remember MY first camera? It was one I got free by turning in Bazooka gum wrappers. Don't even know what size it was. Very odd camera. Took awful pictures, but as a kid, I thought it was neato! :D

I remember those. This is starting to remind me of "A Christmas Story" with Ralphie's Little Orphan Annie secret decoder. :D LOVE THAT MOVIE.

My daughter asked me how old I was when I got my first cell phone because she wants one. I told her that she could have one the same age I got mine LOL-
I still have that thing somewhere too.

Don't think my son would go for that one. He wouldn't want to have to wait till he's 40! lol He's been begging for one again.

Really don't know when we're going to BC next, but it would be cool to meet up. I get lost if I leave Capitol and Columbia. Planning to go to Chelsea this Saturday.

Jodi, did you know the store in Chelsea is closing? I got a letter from them in the mail a few days ago.

The Chelsea store was pretty much picked over. Jon was hoping that I'd pick up a Cricut cartridge or two, but those are all gone. The stand-alone paper racks (they're selling all the fixtures) started at $40. I can find much cheaper solutions than that. So, I picked up some paper and stickers, then sat in construction traffic for an hour on my way back home. ERK! I rolled down the window and sang the first verse to one of my songs, "Bridge to Nowhere", at the top of my lungs:

I was loaded up and headed to a new vacation spot
With the windows all rolled down and the sun was shining hot,
But I forgot to check the news and my favorite route was blocked.
Construction everywhere and all the traffic stopped.

I'm on a bridge to nowhere...

That's too bad Jodi. And then to be stuck in all that traffic. :(
