Do you do papercrafts alone, at crops, or in groups?

I have made cards in all three settings, but I seem to get more done when I'm by myself! I talk too much and want to see what others are doing when I'm at a crop or working at my kitchen table with my sister(s)! ;)

I mostly work alone. THere are several organized crops in the area, but it is such a hassle to pack up everything. I DO enjoy the weekend retreat crops. I've been to one at Lake of the Ozarks in MO twice and am getting my deposit down for the fall one. There are a lot of giveaways, 24 hr crop (7pm Friday to 7pm Saturday), challenges, and a chance to see things from other areas. I live in Kansas City and can buy different things here than at the shop in the little town of Lincoln MO and vice versa. I also shop about a dozen different Internet sites. It is fun to get ideas from people with different resources and experiences.

I craft with Vince ! But I like to be on my own at times and he's the same but I really like looking what he's doing so I pick up some ideas, he's very critical of my work though so at times I do stuff at night while he's asleep. LOL So I can get on with it.

I'd love to be able to go to workshops at least once a month, it's nice to meet other crafters and having chit-chats about our buying habits. ;)

Mostly alone. Have an occasional craft day with co-workers that include knitters, scrapbookers, cardmakers, crochet'ers and a seamstress. We also get together twice a year to make outfits and blankets for babies that are stillborn. Yes, it is terribly sad but the moms (and family) deserve to spend some final time saying goodbye to their baby with it dressed and wrapped like any baby would be.

I also scrap with my daughter now and then when we can mesh our schedules!

I seem to get more done at crops or when I go to Melanies house. My table is so crowded, I can't find any room here at home to craft! lol Now that we've found a place to crop at, I love going there. It's about 40 minutes away tho, so don't get there as often as I wish I could.

Sadly, alone. There doesn't seem to be much interest here in my area for crafts. There is seldom any kind of craft events and very few craft stores.....
My niece ( who lives about 2 hours away) sometimes comes to spend the weekend and then we craft together. She and I talk crafting long distance. Luckily she and I both have unlimited long distance!!
God bless

Alone for me. When I get to craft I generally have 4 little faces watching me, so they "craft" at one end of the kitchen table & I get the other! Would love to go to a crop or those retreats that ye talk about but there's nothing like that here yet! May just have to set up my own...

Mostly alone. I do go to a few events and a group of us get together every other month plus I belong to a stamping club and we meet once a month. In between that I'm alone. I find it very hard to pack up my craft room and go. I have a crop for breast cancer in October and I'm already putting aside an album and supplies to work on.

I mostly work alone -- I haven't figured out how to transport what I would need to go to a crop! I also use the computer a lot for printing photos "just the right size" for a layout after I've figured out what that layout will be. Many of my photos are digital and I don't print them until I'm ready to put them on a page.

However, I DO work with my mother and sister-in-law by phone. I'll send a picture of a layout I'm considering and get their suggestions on it, or send pictures of completed pages & talk with them about them. They occasionally send me pictures of their stuff, but they're not as active with paper crafting right now.

Alone. I don't want to package up everything I own to bring with. Someday I'll have the room to invite others to come over.

I definitely craft by myself. I find I get into a "zone" when my creativity begins to flow, and ringing phones or chatting will set me back. I do have a great crafting buddy in my n'hood, and I will brainstorm with her if I'm stuck for an idea or a project just isn't coming together as I'd like it to. And, we share project ideas with one another. But, if I'm working...I like SOLITUDE!!:)

Alone as well here...an attempt was made to start a weekly crop at the local community center but it fizzled after a few weeks for lack of participation. Nothing else for at least an hour and in most cases 3 hours in any direction -- nearest craft store is an hour away and it's a Hobby Lobby and while I'm glad they are there they definitely do not have the newest stuff ever!

Alone. Do an Archiver's class every couple months for ideas, but for the most part I love being in my "studio" and seeing all my toys around me.

For most of the time 'alone' I have a regular class once a week but find I don't really get a lot done because of the chatting (but I do enjoy it) and occasionally go to workshops to learn new techniques. I just love being in my craft room.

I have to be alone. If I go to a crop, I spend all my time talking and don't get a thing done!

Mostly at workshops. I host a monthly workshop at the local fire hall, but I don't actually get alot done. I talk to much ;). I always plan to work on stuff at home, but daily life seems to intrude. Also, for some reason, my husband and son seem to think my office/craft room is a good place to dump their stuff, so if I want to work in there, I have to clean all their junk out first:mad:!

I'm surprised to say this but I do more scrapbooking at a regular crop I go to every month. At home I seem to do more with cards. I keep my basic scrapbooking stuff packed and as I get new pictures, I pick out a few papers and throw them in the bag! Occasionally I have to clean it out because it gets too heavy to lift in the car!

So far have crafted by myself. Would love to have the courage to attend a crop but I'm far too self-conscious and would probably chat too much and get nothing done.

In my world, that is the POINT of going to crops.:p
Who cares if you get much done, you meet people, see techniques and get goodies and...... chat your head off!;)

Sandra, wish you were closer and Melanie and I could craft with you. Actually I wonder just how far away you are. Will have to look it up. I had never been to a crop before last fall. Since we have found our fav sb store, we go there every so often. Wish it was closer, but it's about 40 minutes drive. But I look on the bright side, at least we have one, and it's a nice drive, mostly through the country.

For the most part I craft alone. I try every month to get my Mother to come over and craft together and then every quarter I'll throw a girl's night out and get my best friend, and my two daughters together. The rule is they can bring something if they want to but they don't have to. I open up my craft studio with all the stuff and let them create to their hearts content.

I do the foo, foo girly food and we spend the night just having fun and eating, and talking and eating and laughing and did I tell you we eat?

Don't be afraid to go to crops. The first time I went was a fundraiser for breast cancer that I still attend. Besides being my first crop it was the first time I even cropped to begin with! I only completed one page. I walked all around asking questions and getting ideas. What was more amazing was all the huge bags everyone rolled in with their supplies and how they set up their part of the table. Everyone was so nice and gave me so much information. Left at the end of 9 hours with my head spinning. It was amazing.

I craft alone. My neighbor & I used to craft together but her daughter ruined 3 of my cards "helping" so now we do it seperately. I love teaching children to craft but not when you tell them hands off & they paint it any ways. Patty, that's a very special thing that you're doing for those poor parents. I'm sure that at that sad time seeing their baby so sweet helps. Judi

I like scrapping by myself, so I can take time to really organize my page. But I love to take my cardmaking stuff with me camping. So when my husband is fishing, or napping, I can make cards undisturbed.

Usually I make my cards alone in the evening. My card "wall" takes up part of our bedroom, so my husband can be watching a movie while I am working on stuff, which is nice.

"The girls & I" try to get together at our church every so often to scrap and do crafts of all kinds. And sometimes myself and the other 3 women that plan all of our women ministry stuff for our church get together and play (and eat) at my house. The 4 of us are close friends, so we usually end up gabbing most of the time anyway!!!
