I see that some of the members have blogs to showcase their cards, scrapbook pages, photos, and tutorials. I find the blogs to be very good way to see what everyone is doing and finding new techniques.

Why did you start a blog?

I haven't started one yet but am thinking about it. I especially want to share techniques since that is the type of blog I like best.. do what you love, as they say.

I started my first one because I kinda wanted to have a history of what I've made and to meet new crafters, now 6 blogs down the line, it has escalated into madness ! LOL

I wanted to meet other card makers and scrapbookers. I've met wonderful papercrafters from all over the world (just like on this MB)! I'm getting ready to start a second blog just for challenges and I'm looking for design team members. Come on over and take my black and white challenge this week if any of you are interested. The deadline to submit your entry is midnight on July 16th. :D

I have a blog. But I don't get many visitors. I mainly post my cards as I'm a bit more "protective" (for lack of a better word) of my layouts. I hope that doesn't sound to rude, it's not meant to be.

I started mine for my business- sorta. I don't have any business on there, I just wanted to show the personal side of my life and help others as much as I can. I am not protective of my stuff. I figure is someone uses it, great! If they make money off of it, just means that I didn't get there first. I may start selling some things there, just to make some money though. I have a small collection of PW stuff that I sell too- looking to get a bigger inventory, but I don't charge shipping.

I make cards for my friends & family and have recently started doing some craft fairs so basically mine is pretty much to showcase my work & of course to make some crafting buddies! I used to be a little precious about my creations but we all have to learn somewhere and if I can show someone a different lo & learn a new one myself that's a bonus! love2scrap you don't sound rude just normal! As for you Fab how do you keep up with everything?

It doesn't sound rude at all. If I promise not to "lift", can I go to your blog? :D

No blog yet. Been thinking of it. Fab, you're a superman. Six blogs, all the swaps on here plus making loverly cards. See, we have some strange words over here too. By the way, Fab, don't you have a special announcement to make tomorrow? Looking forward to it. How do you start a blog any way? Judi

Irishlady, blogs are really easy. You just need to find a site that works best for you. Most people use Blogspot or Blogger. I use Windows Live. Since I already have e-mail with them I already had the space, too. I just needed to set it up. I wish it had more themes but other than it it's good, I like it.

I'm way behind you Fab. I only have 3 and it keeps me busy. How do you manage it? Got any tips?

I started fairly recently blogging and just originally set it up so my friends and family in other places could see things I had made, but in time it might change to have more of a business aspect - not yet, though. I'd want to be able to make it a lot fancier with more content before I went there!

I've started a blog... twice. The first one was just a regular chit-chat type blog. But I felt like I was just repeating everything I was posting on the message board I was on at the time, so kind of redundant. The second one was one I started right before my trip overseas in February. I did that one with the intention of posting our adventures we did every day, and when I got my pages scrapped to put them on it and just leave it. Never did anything past a day or two, never added more to it. Not sure if I will ever go back and add more to it or not.

Thanks the posting the challenge Mary. I sometimes need something to push me out of my comfort zone. Here's the card I made. The picture isn't the greatest. Boy do I need to work on my photographic skills (my dh takes most of our pics). It kept coming up bleary. I think I wasn't getting enough light, but I had all the blinds up, and since it is 105 here, I wasn't willing to risk heat stoke for a better pic. Anyway ended up using my flash, and it left a bit of a glare. I'll try to figure out how to post it on your blog later. Now it's time to cook dinner, and I still have craft supplies spread all over my dining table. Thanks again for the challange. Keep 'em coming.

I started my blog to showcase my cards and to have a venue to sell the cards to a wider audience. It's still relatively new. But I'm finding myself posting about my scrap pages. And the blog has actually led me to join other online communities like this one. It's also my first blog, but I have ideas for other ones, not craft related. So this one also allows me to practice and really learn how to run a blog, how to keep up with it, before I delve into any more.

Great card Sheila! Thanks for taking the challenge this week. Want me to see if I can get it from here and post it for you on Friday? This will be the last challenge on my cardzforu blog. Starting July 23rd the challenges will all be on Paper Cutz Challenge blog. We'll have a new challenge every Friday...hope you'll join in!! :D

Sheila, I was able to copy your beautiful card from your album, and will post it with the other entries on Friday. That butterfly is gorgeous! Did you emboss it? It's SO pretty.

If anyone else wants to enter the challenge, the deadline is tomorrow night (Thursday, July 16th) at midnight. The challenge is to make a black and white card, LO or craft project. Just post them to your album and let me know you're entering. If I get enough entries, I'll make a slide show. :D

Hugs,

Thanks everyone for your kind words, and thanks Mary for moving the card -- one less thing on today's "to do" list. I cut and embossed the butterfly with my cuttlebug then applied black distressed ink. Fab, I used Liquid Pearls for the bling. I just got a couple of bottles in the mail & can't wait to play with them more. I wanted to use them to make the butterfly's flight pattern but didn't have room. I may have to try something similar with a vertical card.

Mary, I'll check out your new blog tomorrow for the next challenge. Have a great day everyone.

Sheila, that's a lovely card. I've only done one black & white card. I painted white roses on a black background then placed it in a lacy oval. May have to try more cards like that. Judi

Neat card - love the embossed butterfly technique! Think there were a couple of B&W cards in one of the WOW cardmaking episodes that got me kind of looking at those; I've never done a black and white one.

Thanks SamB. Someone on the mb mentioned inking their embossed embellishments, but I can't remember who. Anyway I thought it worked really well on that card.

Started my blog so that family (mum dad and sisters) could see what I was making and showcase my cards. I named it after my granddaughter Chloe Trish :)
PS wish I had the know how to do some video clips - it looks like fun.

I just started a blog. There is so much to set up and I still have lots to do. I'm using Blogger. I'm a little confused on how to add PW's logo and link to my gallery. I'm sure it's a gadget I have to add. Can anyone help?

Yea!! Welcome to the blogging world KarenLiz. So much inspiration, you will love it. I have blogspot too and believe me it takes some trial and error to figure things out cause they are always changing things.

First things first, you need to right click a Paper Wishes MB Picture and save it on your computer. Huston put it up on one of these threads or you can copy the image from my blog....www.craftyimaginingsbyjen.blogspot.com. Its on the right side bar, under other banners.

On your blog, Click Design...Click Add a Gadget...Choose Picture...Here is where you can upload the PW image you saved on your desktop and you can key in the link too. There is no need to add the title or caption.

Let me know if this helps...
