I went for my interview today at a nearer hospital to where I currently work - although it won't be nearer when I move - but that's another story.

I forgot to ask one question too - so IF I'm offered the job it will be dependent on the answer to my question.

BUT at this moment in time I would really love this job - so can you send some good wishes vibes to me to be offered this job - won't know until Monday next week.

Gilly (thanks everyone_).

No funnun I'm just clerical/administrative - office work but I started working for the NHS (National Health Service) and so want to keep my service within NHS - I only started working in December 08 having been at home for 12 years doing alternative health therapies - financial difficulties meant I had to return to a 'proper' job and I was LUCKY enough to get my current job. I say lucky - I have ended up working with an awful woman - she has been vile to me from the day I started there. I had tried everything - from being extremely nice, to nice, to agreeable and not speaking etc - then I had to take it to HR (human resources/personnel) I hated doing it but I couldn't cope with the daily stress of working with this woman. I just hated going into work but couldn't give my job up.

She is now sickly nice but undercurrent of the same horrible rotten stinking woman she has always been.

I HAVE prayed that I get out - but I also have to think - why have I ended up having to work in such a hostile environment ? So maybe this will be the job for me - fingers crossed and KEEP SENDING THOSE VIBES - thank you.

Cant, sorry your job situation is stressful. You know, God has a reason for everything that happens to us... maybe you are right where He wants you to be... maybe you will be the only Bible this lady reads.... she apparently has issues and is terribly unhappy and so makes every one else miserable...
I hope things work out for you.... but God may leave you where you are for a reason...
God bless

never say that you are just "clerical" - don't you know that "clerical people" are the bus drivers of most companies!!! Unfortunatley, they usually don't get much credit . . . still sending you vibes, baby! and hang in there, Monday is just around the corner!

Boy, I agree with that statement. I am a Medical Technologist working in a hospital laboratory and I bow down to the clerical staff and the job they do. I might know how to test the specimen but they enter that patient correctly in the system, label the specimens (almost always correctly), send and fax results, answer 8 billion phone calls and put up with me asking stupid questions all day like, "is the courier here yet?" or "how do I fax this?"

They are the ones that GET the specimen into my hands and I couln't do my job without them. <Kisses to all clerical people everywhere>

No food or drinks in the lab, Fab.

They probably would if I asked and I would get them one, too. Most of the time, I am lucky to get a lunch break.

Dear Gilly, My very good wishes are coming your way as well as my prayers. Just remember that even for some reason that you don't get this job, God has a much better one all lined up for you. But in the mean time, I do so wish you luck with this one & pray that you get it. Be sure to let us know Monday if you have made that hospital a better staffed place. Judi

Dear Gilly, Love right back at you. I know what its like to work with an awful woman. I work with several of them most importantly the hotel general manager. I've been there 30 years and now she's trying to force me out of my job. Its an awful feeling to be made to feel that you can't do your job any longer. I agree that God has a reason for you to be in your present job. Just like He does me. Just wish He'd tell me what it is. I'm looking for another job also. So far my job search engines keep getting me job ads for places on the other side of the country. Also for those with so many degrees that it takes an hour to read them. Keep the faith. Judi

Gilly,
My thoughts. and prayers are with you and anyone else in the job market these days. I have been an elementary teacher for 36 years. Each year I think of retiring but go back for one more year. Partially because teaching has become such a part of me and partially because I'm worried about giving up a job I love in these tough times and trying to live on my retirement (which would cramp my crafting style!) I'm sure the Lord has something special in mind for you.
