It's a technique where you use color pencils and color in a die cut or stamped image. Then you take Gamsol (or odorless mineral spirits) on the tip of a paper torillion (Sp?) and blend the color pencils.
I couldn't get this to work for me at all! So I just simply use watercolor pencils and a water brush. Works for me! Plus I wasn't sure if the mineral spirits would be safe for my layouts or cards.
Hope this helps.

There are a couple of techniques you need to keep in mind with MCPT. It works best on a good grade of paper like Brixton or I use 100lb Bristol smooth (I got this at M's) and the color pencils need to have a lot of wax in them like Prisma pencils.
If you use just the average cardstock or color pencils it works but it doesn't have the vibrancy or same affect. As far as the odorless mineral spirits goes, you definately do not want this out in a place where your children could get their hands on it. I keep my in a bottle that has a foam top dispenser and a lid. For no more than you use your cards they will be safe. Mineral Spirits is the same thing they use to recondition chopping blocks.
Hope this helps! I think I answered this same question on the thread where I posted my DD Tulips.

I don't like all these acronyms! I spend half my time trying to fit words inthat would make sense! lol
So what do the letters mean. Maybe that would help me figure out what y'll are talking about.

I hear ya! But after awhile, the acronyms start making sense--I think that means I need to spend more time outside! LOL
Oh, MCPT means Magic Colored Pencil Technique.

I need to make a correction to my original post above. Mineral Oil is what is used to recondition chopping blocks not Mineral Spirits. I woke up in the middle of the night realizing I had put down the wrong information. I apologize for any inconvenience.
