While watching the webisode for the second time, I wondered if the alcohol inks would work on them? I think I'll try that....has anyone already tried this technique?

Hi Jan!
What a great question, and I went straight to the spectacular Susan for an answer, here is her reply:

It does work to use alcohol inks with dazzles. It dries pretty fast, and
stays put--but you can remove it with alcohol. One tip is that the alcohol inks are translucent, so the silver or gold (or other) color of the Dazzles will show through a bit, so keep that in mind when using the inks, because this will affect the color result. For example, I applied some "bottle" ink to a silver dazzle and it looked bluish-green. I applied it to a gold dazzle, and it looked more leafy green because the gold was showing through it.

Thanks for the info...I'll try it...I love the alcohol inks on tins and the silver showing through adds to the "interest"....in one of my albums posted on this board, I uploaded a pic of a tin I did...so it's great that these inks will work on Dazzles....should look cool. Thanks again.

P.S. Maybe I'll use the innies to test the colors before applying the ink to my Dazzle I plan to apply to my card.

You can also use permanent markers for outline stickers/peel-offs. Just a little tip colour them on their carrier sheet as it's easier.

Hi Jan, yes you can color the Dazzles with alcohol inks...just put some color on the applicator and tap it on. The look is gorgeous and as Susan said, it will still let some of the metallic gold or silver show through, so keep that in mind when you choose colors and go with warm or cool tones. For example, when coloring over silver Dazzles, I'd use "cool" colors like blues and greens. For gold Dazzles, try "warm" colors like orange and red.

We'll also be demonstrating this technique and showing examples in our Stamp Camp Week of Webisodes Oct 5-9!

Have fun playing!

I've only used alcohol inks on the acrylic shapes and mini albums. I put it on the backside and let it show thru. I'll have to try it with these other mediums.
