Just curious!
I'm trying to finish up two "craft" envelope mini scrapbooks at this time. Still a long way to go. I've use the Large "craft" envelopes cut in half and then cut the top like a tag--covered them with paper from coordinating paper pack. After I embellish I will bind it with a Bind-It-All. Whoo Hooo, then I can add the photos. Right now I'm just adhearing the paper! (like I said --a long way to go). I am sooo slooow.
Come on and share........
I was just going to start a post to see what everyone was working on, and found this. I guess great minds do think alike!
I have been doing some layout of my grandaughters first birthday. Also making baby announcements for grandchild #6 due in about 4 weeks. And I am also (pretending to) organize my supplies. I really do try but then I see something and think- oh what could I make with this. I guess I get easily side tracked.
OK who wants to share next...

I'm trying to finish up an album for my daughter of her childhood. It seemed like such a good idea but I'm to the point now of just "getting through it". Right now all I have are Polaroids and they are really hard to work with, though I have scanned and enlarged some. It surprised me but I had the most fun working w/ her 8X10 portraits.
Oldma, I', very interested in what you are doing w/ the envelopes. Please consider posting it so we can take a peek.

I made a mini book for my sister-in-law last week and this week I'm working on the same kind of book for my friend. I have to finish it by tomorrow. I will post the pics when I'm done.

I pulled out one of my monthly Paper Wishes card kits, and started working on that. I've been taking those to crops lately, and this last week I started bringing it to work and working on it during my lunch. I just today finished a birthday card for my hubby, whose birthday is next week. I just love the card kits!

I just finished an ATC (artist trading card) swap - got my envelopes all mailed out today. Two to the US and the rest went to Germany, Australia and the Netherlands. I just love online forums like this because you can make friends with new like-minded people all over the world!
Now I am gonna just relax and play with my supplies until I think of the "next big project." Maybe a book or journal - they are so easy and fun to make with just some chipboard and binder rings. :)

I tend to get sidetracked easily, but my 'main' project right now is scrapbooking my son's childhood pictures. He's 31 now...I am up to about pre-school age - long way to go. It is harder with the older photos that may not be very high quality. You can't just go to the computer and adjust something and print it right out...you can scan it and make a few changes, but mostly you have to work with what you have.
I also get distracted and like to make cards, and little projects like a picture cube or little journals. Like someone else said I start straightening up and get involved in something new before I finish one project - much less finish cleaning up!;)

Hmmm, I wonder if the same card would work for both of them. Just kidding!

I'm waiting on my new Paper Wishes stuff to get here so I can make some more cards with Dazzles-- I have started Mothers Day Cards. My sister-in-law called today and said that she got the Easter card I made and wants me to make Mothers Day cards for her in-laws.

My very best friend works for a government contractor and has been in Iraq for 18 months. I am currently working on a scrapbook of his time there for him. At times it has been quite a challenge as the main color theme there is tan, tan and more tan. I have converted some pictures to black and white making my color choices more flexible.

I'm working on catching up on my daily photos from last year. I am known for getting side-tracked by other projects - like making my Christmas cards, individual trip scrapbooks, books for gifts, etc., so my everyday life gets put on hold and accumulates so quickly!
I am taking a week trip home next month and need to finish up so my family can see my pages from the past year. It's a great way to catch up on how my life is going since I'm so far away from them all :)

I have several projects in the works.
I am making Birth Announcements for a friend, she needs 100 of them so it is a BIG project.
I am working on a Heritage Album for my cousin's daughter that is getting married in July.
I am working on vacation pictures from December.
And to add to the mix I have a 13 month Great-Niece that is the love of my life and I scrap her all the time. This is the last page I made for her:

I'm working on organizing all my stuff. I bought a new 3 tiered stand with a lot of room for storage. I can at a glance see where everything is and exactly what I have. I hate thinking I've run out of something and go and buy it again only to find it in another box a week later!! That really burns me up!! ~Sandra~

I have about 4 projects in the works. I work for a tax accountant so until April 15th is here and gone, can I go back to my craft room. I tend to work on different projects for variety. Most of the scrapbooks are mixed media board books and I only make 2 of the same card. I love variety.

I just finished up an Easter pail (Thank you Paper Wishes!) for my 3 1/2-year old nephew. I filled it with a plush bunny and some candy. Yum! I also just finished decorating a new Spring is Here wreath for my front door. Next on the agenda, besides a few scrapbook pages of my newest nephew (he's only 3 months old), is tag-making for my older nephew's birthday party favors. He turns 4 on May 8th (Yikes where does time go). He loves dinosaurs so that's the theme for his party. Should be fun and I've already got a few designs turning around in my head.

I've got all my cardstock die cut and my patterned paper picked out to start a baby boy album along similar lines of the baby girl book I just finished. What GREAT FUN!!! Don't you just get SO excited to start something new and fresh??? Even the sun seems to shine brighter when you've got a new vision in your creative soul. I'm totally hoping you will share your mini envelope scrapbook on here with us. Don't hold back, now. You've got my interest piqued now for sure. But it sounds wonderful. I hope it doesn't take me as long to use my bind-it-all on my next project as it did the first time! Eeeeggggaaaddds - it took three of us one entire evening, and an entire row or rings before we got it right. But I sure love the results! So DO SHARE this envelope album, please????

I am always in the middle of too many things but I am mainly trying to organize my craft room to hopefully avoid all the confusion in the future. I am also starting a mini book for myself (first one for ME) which is based on me meeting a celeb that I am infatuated with :o I should be making a card for my friends birthday that has snuck up on me - how does that happen? I am very sloooowww and tend to way overthink every project. I am envious of all you fast finishers!

Right now I'm working on a set of albums about a trip my husband and I took to Australia and New Zealand for our 30th anniversary. I'm doing 12x12 albums and when finished will have 5 albums of approximately 60 pages each -- one for each area we stayed and what we saw there. I've finished the 1st one (New Zealand) and am working on the 2nd (Tasmania). I like these albums I found with filmstrips for pictures on the front -- have one for each place.

What's the holdup? Let's get crackin' Crafti - you've only got 245 more days - get the lead out, girl. :D
You know what would happen to me if I were that organized? I'd forget where I put all 50 cards and run to Hallmark on the 23rd. Or - I would suddenly get this idea on December 15th I wanted to make 50 Christmas cards. I'm true to my motto - A place for everything and everything all over the place. That's me. Last Christmas I took a class on a very detalied Christmas album (much like my baby albums) on December 3rd. The following week, I got the hairbrain idea of getting out the kids old Christmas photos and making each of them an Album for Christmas. Somehow - they got made and sent on time. Had no Christmas cookies last year, but the albums got done. No WONDER I have gray hair. I'm my own worst enemy.
So I really admire your organizational skills, Crafti.

That is a really cool album! I need to start working on my trip album from when my dad, my son and I went to Israel and Egypt in February. I have three albums bought to put the pages in, and have to sort thru over 4,600 pics to go in.

When I first started scrapping nearly 2 years ago - I wouldn't start another project until the one I was working on was finished - all has changed, which I'm quite surprised about really.
I am currently doing:
An eclectic mini album of ME.
A book of ME - well an album 8x8 A-Z.
A book of DD from birth to now.
A book of DS from birth to now.
Another book on Twinchies.
I have quite a few 'inches' to decide what to do with - probably make into a mini book.
A book on 'my home' and area - this was a challenge 12 months ago for a team I am on on another forum in UK.
AND last but by no means least finish off a 12x12 album of my DD for the last 12 months, photo's from her ever growing collection of her out with her mates !!
I certainly have changed.

I've got my Valentine's Day page started. I don't do too much "girly" so this is one day I go all out. I'm even dying the white trim I had (fabric) in tea to make the color just right and I picked up some beads for a pearly border. I know I'm going to overdo it, so I'll try to see if I can find something Victorian to scraplift. The Victorians overdid it and made it work for them.

This is gorgeous. And it looks so much fun to do! Our area would be a lot of fun to research as well - lots of wild west tales abound. Love England's churches and old architecture. And as I said before - MISS those bangers and mash. Got hooked on those when I lived there. A rare snowfall? Love the gatefold cover. Very very cute.

I didn't go full English this morning just a few bits of bacon, eggs and hashbrowns. Didn't fancy baked beans (I'm funny with them). When I get visitors from Canada or Italy they demand the full wack though: bacon, eggs, mini-burgers, black pudding, tomatoes (fresh cut in half), mushroom, baked beans and finally hash browns. You don't need lunch after a breakfast like that ! LOL

Sounds great except the BLACK PUDDIN'. Oh my gosh - my first dh (not so darling) was from Scotland, and he would sometimes go to the butchers in downtown Detroit to get those. Oh my gosh - I had to leave the house when he cooked those. But then - I'm a little squeemish when it comes to anything other than steak and chicken breasts. So when we all descend on you for breakfast - please leave the black puddin' at the store. :p

Blood sausages have been popular in all Scandinavian countries and in Normandy (France) hence the popularity in Quebec (although I've been told a bit less now). HA! He was more than a little stern. Being the only child that he was, it was clear in short order once we got back to the States that his parents were still number 1. I woke early one Sunday morning to the distinct sound of a chain saw in my front yard. His father decided the cute picket fence we had in the front yard was too much of a pain to paint - so he cut it down. No one ever friggin' asked ME about it. I loved it. Not long after, I put an end to the dictatorship and went packin'. ;) As far as I know, he could still be married to mom and dad to this day.:D

ha ha ha - well, Black Pudding is blood sausage - very distinctive by it's black casings. And Fab is pulling your adhesive with the baby Haggis. Haggis is goat stomach, and tripe I believe (correct me here on this one if I'm not) is pig intestines. (Or is that chitlins I'm thinking of?) And by now of course you know that bangers is pork sausage. Very GOOD sausage, too. We Americans tend to put too many herbs and spices in our breakfast sausage. So I really developed a liking to their sausages. Sorry - we kind of went off on nostalgic tangent there. :D

I am working on three different gift scrapbooks. 1) My Mom is a painter (oil) so for this Mother's Day I am creating a book of all the paints she has completed - the hardest part was getting all the family and/or friends, etc... that have them to get pictures and email them to me. 2) & 3) is the same type book "through the life of "baby - current time" - just picking out a few different pics - so you can see the changes through the life of the person - one book of my Husband for his birthday and the other is of my Mom for her birthday (her will even include the grandkids/grandpets).

Bangers and Mash (sorry to correct you) are sausages and mashed potatoes. Chips are chunky fries and crisps are chips. Deep fried sausages are called Saveloy.

So i really developed a liking to their sausages. Sorry - we kind of went off on nostalgic tangent there. :d

Bangers and Mash (sorry to correct you) are sausages and mashed potatoes. Chips are chunky fries and crisps are chips. Deep fried sausages are called Saveloy.
You are absolutely right. I think the fish & chip places in Brandon are so accustomed to the yanks coming in there and mucking up their lingo for potatoes, they just served them up as fries (chips) even though we mistakenly called them "mash". :D

Off the food topic - can anyone explain to me what the difference is between foam TAPE, and pop dots? I never used either one in scrapbooking much, but now that I'm going to start on cards, I want something that will lift an element up SLIGHTLY - without all that height a pop dot gives. Is foam tape what I should use?

foam pads (over here anyways) are in different depths - you can get 1mm and 2mm & I think thicker ones too.
I don't use pop dots?? I know we have them over here. WHAT I DO LIKE is pinflair glue? Don't know if you have that over there - like silicone glue but no silicone and no smell. Get it on your fingers and it just rolls off - very good for dimension to a card/embellishment/element but does take a while to dry properly.
Hope this is of some use as we are oceans apart.

Foam tape is sold on a roll usually and can have different thicknesses and width. You just cut what you need. Pop dots are those glue dots that can be quite thick ( I use them for fabric/paper flowers ) and for small elements like buttons. Foam squares are similar to foam tape but sold in sheets and precut in squares again different width, size of the squares are being sold. You can see the full range from one merchant www.stix2.com I believe PW have started to sell some of their products.

I prefer the thinner 1/16" thick foam adhesive products (a lot are found in the 1/8" thickness) so I will list what I've found.
EK Success makes "3-D Dots" in both round and square shapes, and in both 1/16" and 1/8" thicknesses. Check the package carefully before you buy to make sure that you're getting what you want. I just bought a pack of the 1/16" foam squares today at the crop I attended in a sb store.
All Night Media, which I think is a company that caters to stampers, makes mini "Pop Dots", which 1/4" round and 1/16" thick. I don't know about their other foam products, but I do have this package of thinner mini foam dots. I think I found this at Michaels.
As for 1/16" foam tape, I have some Hobby Lobby brand that I bought on clearance a while back, so no help there. I do know that Scotch/3M makes foam tape on a roll but I'm not sure about the thickness. I have seen it at Staples though, so if it does work for you compare prices at your local office supply store with your local craft store.

Thanks to all for your responses on the foam tape. The glue you mentioned Cantstopstampin, I've not heard of here. Too bad we can't cross oceans on all products. And thanks Fab for the leads on the roll foam.
The funny thing is, as well stocked as my favorite 'evil' store is, I asked last month if they had foam tape and they said no, and offered no alternatives. (have to speak to them about that!) But perhaps if I mentioned 3-D dots, they might magically come up with some. Can I assume Melanie that these foam products come in a plastic roller dispenser like so many other dry adhesives do now, or would I find them in a box like Glue Dot brand Glue Dots?
I might have to go to 2Peas website to find. PW carries the foam squares, but Scrapbook Adhesives seems to be more interested in the overall size rather than the thickness. I have some of those. Sounds like what I'm after then is the 1/16" thick stuff.
Thanks very much - I'll be on the hunt now. :D

They also have pop-dots that are foam. That's what I use mostly. I have two sizes, one is small and 1/16 tall and the other dot is larger and taller (don't have the packaging anymore.) I use some glue dots too for the added height on my flowers mostly. It's one thing that really makes them stick and you can squish them to be little less high.

Bacon and sausages in the mail? That would be lovely, cantstopstampin. Thank you ever so much. Sounds good. Smells good, too.
I've never actually tried haggis and the reviews I hear are mixed. Just like bagpipes. You either love them or hate them. There's little in-between. When the topic of Scottish food comes to mind I think of ginger shortbread. I think I used to get it at Crabtree & Evelyn before I swore off cookies once and for all.
To (unfortunately) veer from this delightful subject, I got my latest Paper Wishes catalog in the mail yesterday and can't wait to dive into it!

Oh I have those too instead of being square they are round and you can use what's left (matrix) for larger matting area cutting into it. So they're all foamies anyway ! My fave adhesive is still sticky dots !

I haven't seen them sold in either way you mentioned. The 3-D Dots by EK Success and the Mini Pop Dots by All Night Media come on two sheets in a plastic "envelope". The foam tape is in a roll and is packaged between acetate and cardboard. Hope this makes sense.
I also see that PW sells the foam squares from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, but I also can't tell how thick they are.

Sonshine, to see the 3-D Dots that EK Success makes, here's a link to their website:
http://www.eksuccess.com/products_list.php?sess_id=22ac35d6fdfc5839daad60a6 17872895
I see that they sell both circles and squares in the 1/16" thickness.
I went to 3-L's website to check out their foam squares, but even there they don't tell me how thick they are.
To see the Pop-Dots by All Night Media (owned by Plaid), use this link: http://www.plaidonline.com/productSearchResults.asp?keywords=Pop+Dots
I see they have micro Pop Dots (1/8" circles, which I've never seen before) in addition to their 1/4" mini ones. Both come in the 1/16" thickness.
I visited Scoth/3M's website also. What a mind-boggling assortment of adhesives! And some are even for scrapbooking and cardmaking! They call their foam tape "mounting tape", but once again I couldn't figure out how thick it was. They do have foam squares, but they are the thicker kind.
As per their website, Glue Dots International makes "Pop Up Glue Dots" but they are 1/8" thick. These are sold by the sheet and on a roll.
Therm O Web, the makers of Zots, also make foam squares and "Sticky Strips", but these are also 1/8" thick and are sold by the sheet. I do have some of their foam squares but wished they were thinner.
Now I know what to look for myself, as I like the thinner foam adhesives too.

Sonshine, here's the link to a little old article that Susan Cobb wrote about foam tape: http://www.creativepapercrafts.net/experts/200405.php
The article is from 2004 so it's a little dated: Paper Wishes doesn't carry the Scotch Mounting Tape she mentions anymore but she does say that the tape is thin. You'll need to find it at Staples or another office supply store if your craft store doesn't carry it. I'll be looking for it too! ;)

The pop-dots that I use I get at Michaels and there is just enough to raise to not be too high. I use them whenever I stick a brad into something as it is the exact height as they are on the back.

My daughter and granddaughter came over Sat. afternoon - ended up staying the night (her hubby is in Hawaii on business for 3 weeks), going to church with us Sunday morning, and I ended up doing what I said I was NOT going to do - - work all weekend after they went back home. :( Even though a lot of it is my fault that I ended up working my weekend away.) I've seriously got to restructure my time and get tough with myself about diving into my work as soon as I get it and make some play time for myself. Haven't had that in weeks.

I find the scotch foam tape at Walmart--they stock it in the scrapbooking stuff now. But you can also find it around where the paint and rug tape are, even stock it around the office supply stuff.
Here is a big hint (you can blow me kisses later)---You know how that tape can really gummm up you scissors. Take the backing that you normally discard from your glue dots and lay it on the sticky side before you cut and "taa daa" no gummy scissors. It peels right off just like the green plaid on the other side. Another thing I do--I have a small container and (of course I save all that glue dot paper) cut small squares (large and small) and keep them on my desk. Now all I have to do is grab the little container and pick out the size I need--even can cut one in a tiny size if need one. So much handier than pop dots because you don't have to pop them out---saves so much time.

I sell cards at my church to raise money for the local food pantry, so what I've been working on most recently have been Mother's Day Cards. I posted one on my blog today, if you'd like to take a peek.
Besides the cards, I've been working on albums of my daughter who is now 8 years old. But I still have tons of pictures from when she was a baby. So I've tried to have two albums going at the same time, one of the most recent year and one of her younger baby years. I figure at some point I'll catch up :).

Mothers Day here in the States is May 10th. Sure wish I had my mom here to celebrate. I miss her so. She was my best friend.
I'm sorry to hear you had such a bad day - even more sorry to hear one person in particular is responsible for it. Do you ever wonder what makes people like that? Just downright nasty and unlikeable. They must be so miserable inside. When you'd rather be someplace else, doing something you truly love in life - having to spend your time with a nasty witch like that makes it all the harder, doesn't it? I pray for people like that around me. Not that they would DIE mind you :D (don't want you to start doing that), but that they'd find Jesus and let Him turn their lives around. Easier said than done I know - (I've worked with and for people like that for a long time - that's why I became self-employed.) but try not to let her control your otherwise fun life. Being with your buddy on a walk, is good.

Try punching some aluminum foil. Sometimes that helps to sharpen your punch so it cuts better. :)

And if that fails - get a piece of waxed paper or waxed freezer paper and punch that through. Between the foil and the wax - your punches might work even better than new!!! I sympathize - I've had that happen before - and of course, it always happens on the very last piece of paper you have. :(

Unfortunately, I've got 60 card kits to cut and put together for a workshop on Thursday. Love doing the clases, but hate all the prep work. I'll be drawing at 9:00 tomorrow morning (NSD), for the winner of the blog candy contest. Any one who hasn't entered should hop on over and get your name in. :D

Hi all - really tired here ! Two treatments of reflexology (i do it) and walked the dog on a very long walk, plus a bit of cleaning and doing the kitchen which looks like a right ole mess - well did - looks nice now :) gotta go get some food in the house now ! - then cook it ! I am really hoping to scrap later.
DID finish my tag book last night - IF I get chance I shall upload a few more pics of the end of it.
Hope you are all well.
It's been a nice sunny day here too.

I just got back from picking up my two oldest kids at church camp. I think sleep was optional for them this week because my little "angels" are acting anything but angelic. I about to send them to their rooms for a much needed nap and get started on the 85 loads of dirty, smelly clothes they brought home with them. (I'm also thinking showers and deoderant were optional.) I'm thinking they should have just thrown them in last nights bonfire. Anyway I'm trying to decide if I'm going to go ahead and get my house cleaned between loads or do some scrapping. I bet you can guess which way I'm leaning.;)

I just finished two cards, one of them for the cousin's bridal shower tomorrow. Need to take a pic of it so I can post it. I'll be making her wedding card too. Heather and I are excited that next webisode is on wedding gifts and cards.
Y'all are inspiring me to actually DO something with all this stuff I keep buying - I made three cards last night, though they are totally simple compared to some of the divine creations I've seen posted here so far!!! But fun to do anyway!!! This weekend I am working more on a genealogy album I'm trying to get ready for DH's family reunion June 19! Wow - beautiful mini book, Fab. HOw did you like working with Acetate? Kind of makes you think everything through a little more, doesn't it?
As for being hung up on scrapbooks hoping for something scrapworthy soon - I can't speak for anyone else, but I certainly have enough everyday stuff to keep me busy. I don't fret over chronology, if a photo or event inspires me to scrap it, I scrap it. Whether it happened last week or 10 years ago.

And, that being said, I am sitting here at 5:50 am Sat morning with a cup of coffee trying to determine where to start in my studio. I've got a bit of straightening up to do, as well as putting away some new supplies. It's a good problem to have and once I'm done with organizing, then I can scrap! Annette - I'm green with envy over your new telephoto lens! :D I got a telephoto when I purchased my camera a year or so ago, and I absolutely love it. Wish I could use it for everything, which in fact I practically do now anyway. It has way more depth of field than my other lenses. I've really been wanting a 50mm lens. It's going to have to be a big sale to get that. But the real push won't be until my DD has another DGD, or DGS. LOVE those closeups. What camera did you put it on? Also green over your time to SCRAP. It's Saturday, and it's 5:40 a.m. here and I'm about to start my work for the day. So if it's not that - it's bathing two stinky doggers. So enjoy your day!!! :p

I'm going to try to scrapbook my Mother's Day LO before Father's Day, but it has to wait until I finish a late April bd. OK. Maybe I'll get to Mother's Day before the 4th of July-but don't count on it.

I am working on an album of my oldest daughter's wedding. Well actually I started the scrapbook from when the got engaged, through all the planning the wedding and now I am up to the reception and still have the honeymoon. I had to split it into two albums it was getting to big. I let my daughter take home the first album this weekend. You know I kind of miss it.

Hi Garnet - nice to meet you - and we're lucky you joined us. I hope you've got some photos to share of your DD's wedding album! We'd love to see it. And I know completeloy what you mean about missing it. After making an album for someone, it becomes a friend to you. A lot of YOU went into the making of it. So it's understandable why it's so hard to let them go. But at least you'll make new friends with the 2nd half :D

HELLO - from across the pond !
Just signing in before bed - I am extremely tired tonight. I went crafting with my two mates (was supposed to be about 6 of us but long story - everyone dropped out) was only me and one friend at one time but another mate rang and we decided to get together too.
Taught them the exploding box - they did so well considering it was their first time crafting and they loved it and we're going to get together regularly now, so I shall have to get my thinking cap on won;t I.
at work tomorrow  but shouldn't grumble, I have a job :)
Off Tuesday cos my washing machine broke down - - the chap coming to fix it on Tuesday (I HOPE) - but have loads and loads and loads of washing to do. Back at work on Wednesday then and thursday and a very busy day reflexology wise on Friday.
There is no rest for the wicked they say (I'm off now to polish my horns).
THANKS for saying you missed me - you peeps are SO SO LOVELY.
I missed you all too. Speak tomorrow.

I just finished 2 anniversary cards.I finally broke down and bought the Martha Stewart lace punch. On e-bay it was close to $30.00 with s&h. I got it at my local Wal-Mart for $14.00.I used it on the cards and wow it really is a nice punch.I have really been getting good deals at Wal-Mart on my craft needs.I would rather buy my supplies from Paper Wishes but I am limited on $$$ so I go where the best deals are.I do shop around at different sites. So I don't buy from one supplier.

Hello and good morning for Tuesday ! - Already !!!!!
But, as you can see I have a day off - if you can call it that - waiting for washing machine repair man, I have that much washing - it's driving me crazy now - hope he can fix it - don't think we can afford a new washing machine !
DS's motor bike battery needs a charger so I've got to take him to get one after the machine man has been - so hope it's early. Dog needs walking, house needs doing - THINK it would have been easier being at work
Well, I have made a squash book - they're so clever and so easy peezee !
See you tube - 'squash books'
Just thinking of a 'theme' and get to embellish it now. Just wondering if PW have done a webisode on one - off for a nosey at the archives.

yep, just pic's of the kids of time's gone by. Calling it 'IF I could turn back time' - wouldn't it be lovely eh.
I've decided that I shall do this at my next crop - teach it to my friends.
Got to take dog now, washing machine fixed and whirling away with a load of washing - I hated putting the washing on before it broke down, 10 days without a washing machine and I LOVE IT NOW and will HUG it every day !

Don't you just hate days like that - everyone's in need of something or other from you - but it makes the days all to yourself that much sweeter. Your squash book is adorable. Looks complicated. I swear, girl you get more done than anyone I've ever seen. You, Angela and Fab are at the top of my list of enablers. ;) Enjoy the REST of your day off. And let's hope your old thorn-in-the-flesh co-worker will suddenly find a new job. :D

You're so right, Sonshine. All my days seem to be like that with my family (and appliances) making demands but I actually thrive on taking care of them. What if they didn't need me:(
LOL @ enablers!
I'm finally getting around to scrapping a birthday party that happened in January! No. It wasn't slacking this time (this time). I was just waiting for the "right" paper. It was a 13 year old boy and I've done all the blues and greens in the Boys to Men book. This time I'm using the brown fabric-y paper glued on heavy white paper for the "cardstock" and trimming with the brown, tan and gold striped pattern paper from the Masculine Sarapapers book. It should be a nice change of pace and go well with the guitar he got for his birthday, which is going to be the focus picture. No major inspiration comes to me for an embellishment, but I'll find something.

Gilly, love the cover of your squash book. I had to look at the bigger pic of it to see its lovely embossing (looked like paper in the thumbnail).
Nyoka, for info on squash boards, try looking at the "ideas, please" thread in the "question for you" forum here on the board. Someone may have put a tutorial link there.

Watched the youtube video on the squash book and loved it. Thank you! I must try this myself.
On a more somber note, I have to make a sympathy card for my friend, her Dad just passed away. These are the cards I wish I didn't have to make, but I think she'll really appreciate the homemade nature of the card. Anyway, that's what I'll be working on the next day or so.

I'm working on a hybrid page today. I plan to do the photos, title and journaling digitally, but make a diamond fold embellishment with vellum.

Last night I finished the sympathy card for my friend, all I have to do is address it and mail it now. That leaves me open to finish my class-in-a-box today and maybe one or two other projects! It's going to be a rainy day, so a very good day to stay inside and play! Hooray!
Oh, and Dee Dee I'm going to pull out my diamond fold template and try it on some vellum. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yesterday I took my new Ultimate Crafters Companion to Melanies to open and play with. All I have to do is make the envelope for the card swap and it will be done. Got over to her house and went to work on it, and I hadn't brought the paper for the envelope. I had grabbed something else. So that's what I will be working on this afternoon. And then maybe more of my monthly card kits.

Once again Gilly, I have to say these are soooo beautiful! What stamps did you use to make these? And by embossing, are you meaning heat embossing?
cantstopstampin
06-14-2009, 02:56 PM
yep, white embossing powder and then heat embossed - they;'re REAL easy but look impressive and so lovely IRL - the flowers are from an English firm - don't think I can link on here - wouldn't be fair - and they're £24.99 plus your P&P (shipping) they were expensive but they;'re now 2 years old and I clean them after every use and they're still going strong.
Tired now tonight - work tomorrow so better get myself to bed.
just done a few more ATC's for swaps I am in - I am SO LOVIN the swapsee's. Any of you into swapping ATC's?
Gilly.
Maybe we could start a swap thread on here?
Heather

Those are just too pretty Gilly! Maybe I'll have to see if I can find some similar stamps and try that.
I swapped ATC's for about 2 years on another board I used to post on. It was neat getting all the different ones. Why don't you join the card swap? Your ATC's are so neat, and I know you could do somthing like that on a card, it's just a little bigger format.

I am absoolutely hopeless at cards - don't know what it is - just cannot do them. I look at everyone elses and feel real envious that you're all so good at them.

Gilly, put an ATC or some of those "fabby flowers" on a folded piece of cardstock and you'll have a card! If I can make a card you most certainly can!

I have no intention of trying to make a card (I had no intention of learning to scrap either), but once upon a time before the post office got so fussy and the postage got so expensive, people would send a little token gift along with a greeting card. I remember receiving handkerchiefs with crocheted or tatted edgings, hand-embroidered sachets, and other hand-crafted trinkets. I sometimes send stickers to scrapbook-making friends in their (store-bought) cards, and once in awhile a little flat-enough embellishment, but I think they'll all like getting a package of Dazzles. Maybe I can get them to make cards, even if I won't;)
