I STARTED TO SCRAPBOOK WHEN I GOT BACK FROM VOLUNTEERING DURING HURICANE KATRINA. I AM AN RN. IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. I WANTED TO DOCUMENT IT IN A SCRAPBOOK. BEEN SCRAPPIN EVER SINCE. STILL HAVE LOTS TO LEARN. I AM NOT CURRENTLY WORKING RELATED TO BACK SURGERY. I HAVE SOME X-TRA TIME TO LEARN AND CREATE. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO EVERYONES VIEWS. I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE, SO BARE WITH ME. I ONLY CHECK MY E-MAILS EVERY FEW DAYS. I MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RESPOND QUICKLY SOMETIMES. ANY TIPS OR TRICKS FOR THIS FORUM THING?:)
WHAT ARE TAGS??

Hi! Welcome to the message board. We have folks from all experience levels here. I just started scrapping 2 years ago, and just started making cards after joining this MB. Others have been doing it for years. You'll find the folks here are very friendly and we enjoy sharing our projects. I look forward to seeing some of yours!
Tags are words that can be used to help search for specific threads. So, for example, if you were asking a question about making envelopes, the word "envelope" as a tag might help folks find it later. (Frankly, I haven't used tags much myself, but perhaps others find them really useful.)
If you find yourself unsure of how to do things just ask questions. Folks are quite happy to help.

First tip drop the CAPITAL letters ! :) (it means you're shouting on forums when you use large letters)
Only teasing ya, welcome to the forum !

My best suggestion is to read as much as you can on this boards. Even go back to the achives and read, read, read! You will learn a lot of trips and tricks from everyone here! and don't be afraid to ask questions - Heather is right when she says that everyone here is happy to help . . . AND Welcome!

Hello and welcome.
I'm new to the PW (Paper Wishes) community as well. I agree with the other postings about reading everything you can about scrapbooking. Also check out the PW webisodes. If you have an Ipod you can download the episodes and watch them that way as well. They are terrific and you can learn and get a lot of inspiration from them.

Yea, thats what i'm doing....reading trying to figure it out. I can see how this would be addicting. I don't have many adult conversations anymore since i'm home and not working. This is great so far. Thank you all again for your help and advice.:)

Welcome to both of you. This is a great group and everyone is always willing to help when you have questions. I've been stamping and cardmaking only 1 1/2 years and so I still have lots to learn. No one has ever made me feel stupid for asking questions. The staff at PW is terrific, too. Very friendly and eager to assist. My only suggestion would be to look through the albums...you see so many different styles and techniques that will give you great ideas for your own projects.

Hope you like the board... lots of help and advice can be found here and if you don't see something you need help with you only have to ask...
Great to have you join us!!

Judi... it wasn't only the people of La that got hit with Katrina... actually Katrina hit in the edge of Mississippi.... Bay St Louis, Gulfport, Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula were hard hit. Although there wasn't much coverage in the news about MS!!... You would have thought that New Orleans was the only one that suffered according to the news.... I live on the coast of MS and let me tell you, we had it just as bad as New Orleans... but we got off our duff and went to work helping ourselves.... We truly appreciate all the outside help that came in to help...
It truly ruffles my feathers when so much is written and reported about New Orleans and not a word about MS....
Sorry.... I just had to vent......
May God bless

Welcome Renee! Any questions, just ask away. We were all new at one time, and will be glad to help you.
Welcome. Many of us maintain albums here and looking through other members albums is a great way to get some ideas. Try some of the challenges too. Don't forget the Webisodes. THere's a lot of information and help crammed into this board and site. Just ask.

Amen to that sister! It is strange the the media only covers LA . . . happy to see that you recovered. (and venting is healthy!)
