I do have the enveloper as well and it has been quite handy at times.
I use the white side when I need a journaling box.

I have been thinking about buying the enveloper but haven't been able to decide if it will be useful for many sizes of envelopes. I saw the post from pennyd saying she has the product and it has made all the sizes of envelopes that she has needed. So I think I'll order it and give it a try.

I was wondering if they still sell rolls of plain white shelf liner paper. They sold this years ago and I would think that may be an option to make envelopes. I'll have to check that out next time I'm at the store.

Yes, the enveloper is GREAT for making whatever size envelope you need. Here is a link to a thread that talked about it and had a link for a VERY helpful document telling you what size paper, what lines to use, etc. for a large number of sizes of envelopes.

I use patterned paper with the white side out a lot. I've got some cardstock that isn't as thick as some & have used that also. I've found with it that I need to score it a little heavier so that it folds properly. I'd love to find 12 x 12 plain white paper easier. May be PW would consider making some. Hint, Hint! Judi

By the way, I saw there is a new book out - finally a book about just envelopes with design ideas. I've ordered it from the Crafter's Choice Book Club. I'll let you know if I like it when it arrives!

Jan, I hear you about the 12 x 12 paper. I can't find any around here. I have some papers that I want to use for envelopes but there's a cutting grid on the other side. Bummer! I have the Ultimate Crafter's Companion. I use it a lot. I love the fact that I can make a perfect fold on the cards I cut to a certain size. I love all the projects on the DVD that came with it. I was going to get the Crafter's Companion that HSN offered first but then they got the one I bought. It is a bit more price wise but you can do so much more with it. Judi

While it won't help with 12 x 12 scrapbook pages, an 11" width will work for all but the largest envelopes. You might want to try an internet search for 11" x 17" paper. It is a common size and you can find quite a variety that will work for envelopes. For instance, one of the big chain office supplies stores sells 500 sheet reams of 11 x 17 colored paper for less than $15. It's not the best quality of paper, but probably just fine for envelopes. Other larger sizes are available too, including rolls of paper.

Don't forget, envelopes in general are usually very thin, not great quality, so Cheryl is right about the 11x17 paper - it'll work just fine and the light weight doesn't add to the postage! I've used patterned papers with grid lines on the back for envelopes - it actually looks kind of neat!

Using the paper with the grid line would be interesting . . .
