Default Christmas Cards

I finally got around to starting on some Christmas cards. A couple are in my Christmas Card Album. I also posted another birthday card to my regular card album. I also added an envelope to my papercraft album.

I read somewhere that this year Christmas card makers were using unusual colors and designs so I tried something totally different for a Christmas card. I like it but I just love red and green for them. It's about the only time you can use those 2 colors together.

Pretty card, Robin. I DO think it's interesting to see other colors & themes for Christmas cards. I don't know that I've ever seen a butterfly on one before, but I LOVE butterflies! I must agree, however, that though I think the non-traditional are pretty, I also like the traditional colors. Like you say, it's not a color combination that you can easily use the rest of the year.

I usually do Christmas cards in red/green or red/white or blue/silver. The blue/silver is especially effective with snowy scenes I think. The pinks and neon greens remind me of the old aluminum trees with the colored spotlights from the 60's (showing my age). Those are making a come back too.

Not really, MSki. We wandered into Garden Ridge the other day, and they do have those (atrocious) trees on display and for sale.

Now, now, let's not pass judgment on aging hippie taste!!!!! To each their own! I have been doing some cards in bright colors (not using PW supllies necessarily, so I can't post) and they are wonderful. But, I too prefer the traditional colors - but I always need to slip a little purple into most things - thank goodness it can go with the blues and silvers LOL.
